    • Very nice crate but front gate does not open all the way

While this crate is looks great and was fairly easy to assemble, BE AWARE that the front gate does NOT open all the way. I have a 40lb pit that is able to get into the crate through this front gate with no issues, even though it only opens about halfway. Being that the front gate only opens halfway, there is not much play on it at all in case a child or unknowing person tries to open the gate all the way, which causes damage to the crate (as is what happened with mine). If you are looking for a crate with a front gate that opens all the way, this crate is not it. The price of this crate is not worth the front gate breaking/causing cracks on the frame due to this oversight in engineering. Pictures will be included when possible. As mentioned above, overall, this is a very nice crate and I recommend buying if you do not care about the front gate and prefer to use the side gate. ... show more

This crate came unassembled, naturally. It was very well packed, however there were some loose screws in the box. The instructions were good, but still required some head-scratching to get all put together. I would recommend good lighting and take your time. I had to undo a few of my screws to get it right. The top was my biggest challenge to get the screws in straight. With a little wiggling I was able to get it in perfectly. The instructions are only illustrations, so you have to interpret them a bit. It came out great and really looks nice. I like that it has the door on the end with three locks, and the front has the sliding barn-door opening. It will work well for a 50 pound dog or less. Not made for a really large dog. I do worry that the faux wood may not hold up to being wet, or persistent digging that a dog is apt to do, if caged. It does look great and is perfect for a living room, where you need a crate, but don't want something ugly in the room. You could even use it as a table with lots of storage. ... show more

With two people, it takes about an hour and a half to put together. Production definitely could have assembled more parts before shipping, lots of assembly that could’ve been done beforehand to save on time assembling. I was super excited about these, I ordered two - one for each of my dogs. One night as I was putting one to bed, the door literally falls to the ground. Really upset that it broke in a way that is not very fixable, and now I’m without a crate for one of my dogs while I’m at work tomorrow. For the money I paid, I expected it to last much longer than a month. I really wanted something nicer than the traditional metal crate. ... show more

This takes an hour or so to put together... But once it's together, it looks really nice. If I had any concerns it's about the locking mechanisms for the doors. First of all, they don't drill out holes where the bolt latch catch goes on the bottom of the "barn" style door, so you kind of have to tap your own holes to get that in place (mine is a little too snug, and it makes it difficult to latch. The side door comes with swing latches, but it does include an extra lock if necessary. I feel like my dog could easily open them, but my dog is 8 years old, and I'm not worried about him escaping. He has the crate because he likes to have an area to himself, not because I need to keep him out of trouble. All in all, I'm quite pleased with this, and my dog's bed fits perfectly in it, and the second I put the bed in, he claimed it as his own. I just need another one for my other dog now... It would be neat if I could get one that opens on the other side so I could push them together. ... show more

This dog cage has great style. There is a flaw with assembly because you have to drill some of your own holes in order to assemble it. But once it’s together it’s beautiful. It may not be good for an anxious dog that tries to break out because the latch doesn’t seem that durable.

It has a pretty lovely appearance. If there was anything that worried me, it was the door locks. Initially, the bolt latch catch on the bottom of the "barn" style door is not drilled; therefore, you have to cut your own holes to get it in place. My latch is a touch too tight, which makes it challenging to latch. He managed to avoid problems. Overall, I'm happy with this; my dog's bed fits in it nicely, and he immediately claimed it as I placed it in. ... show more
