The hinges pre designated holes were the slightest bit too low I think and once we got the sliding door on we noticed the hinge was crooked and a little out of place so we couldn’t actually lock it. We unscrewed the hinge and fit it to the lock and then re screwed them in and it’s great. Overall a great product so far. I’m not the best at measuring but hopefully the pictures give you a good real life estimate of the size. It came with plenty of extra parts and even a really cool magnetic screwdriver that I’ll definitely be keeping forever. My dog has gotten bigger now and has occasionally scratched at the inside and it’s still in good condition. She did pee inside it (we don’t want her doing that but we didn’t realize she had to go and used it to go pee in the middle of the night. We have coyotes so we don’t really let her out to pee by herself.) thankfully? We have lots of blankets in there for her so that soaked it all up. Without any bedding the pee probably would have gotten into the crack for the sliding door and would have been hell to clean, if not stayed there forever. I think even a puppy pad would risk this, just something to consider if you do happen to be training your dog to pee in there. I have been using this nonstop without a coaster and it is holding up amazingly. No rings and there’s no raising of wood that you’ll see on certain woods. Overall good water resistance and scratch resistance.

I bought this over a year ago for my Shiba Inu after she quickly outgrew her puppy crate. It took her a day or two to adjust but it's been really great! It fits in very well with the other furniture in the room, and it's nice having the storage space on top to organize some of her toys, treats, harnesses and other equipment. Assembly was a breeze, especially if you've assembled other furniture similar to it. One of my favorite parts is that the front sliding door has both a regular metal latch, as well as a barrel bolt lock. When she was a puppy we used both locks so she couldn't get out, but now that we don't worry about her getting up before us we just use the metal latch and she knows how to open it when she wakes up. It feels rock solid even after a year of use, and cleaning it is incredibly simple. She's only had one accident in it very early on, but after removing her bed everything wiped down very easily. I'd highly recommend this crate, just make sure your dog is an appropriate size for it before ordering!

My little princess loves this penthouse crate. It did take some time to assemble but it is definitely worth it. The material is of great quality. and looks amazing. The sliding door does make sounds and it is enough to annoy my munchkin but she is a skittish dog. The latch on the sliding door should be stronger and another mechanism to lock it in place should be better. I am waiting for the day that my smarty figures out how to open it, and I am sure she will. With that said, you do have a latch at the bottom to keep the door from sliding and that should help prevent the door from completely opening.

I got the smallest white crate with black doors and brown top. It is very nice looking, sturdy, and has plenty of room for my shi-tzu mix dog to stand and stretch out. I had to assemble it alone, which I have to say as a not so strong 68 year old woman was a small challenge. It comes with extra of all the various screws, nuts and pegs, which is nice. You really have to pay attention to the manual for assembly. It is picture only, no words, and you get a lot of different sizes of screws, with lots of holes on each piece to locate. The barn door assembly was easy to figure out, but somewhat difficult to screw in, as you have to work between the small bars. All little headaches aside, I got it together, and it looks great. I recommend it.

I wanted a dog crate that looked like furniture as I would be keeping it in my dining room/living room area. Initially I wanted one with drawers, but it turned out that I was going to get to pick up my rescue dog about a week earlier than I thought, so I ordered this as it was scheduled to come the day before I was going to pick up my dog and none of the crates with drawers I was looking at would come in time. Unfortunately, it then got delayed by several days (can't fault the product for that, maybe the seller). So, I do wish I just ordered one with the drawer even though I wouldn't get it before I got my dog since that was the case with this anyway. I "solved" the organization issue that caused by buying a couple baskets that I put on top of the crate to hold my dog's things, they just aren't out of sight when there are guests as I had wanted. Still, it looks like furniture, and not just a cage. I have friends or family over nearly every week. I've had multiple guests comment on how good it looks, and some who are dog owners are considering buying this crate, or one like it, after seeing mine. Be careful when putting it together. The particle board isn't as strong/thick as I expected. When putting one of the pegs into its hole, I used a hammer (like I've found helpful when putting IKEA furniture together) and it pushed it all the way through, even though I just used a gentle tap with the hammer. I took the piece of particle board it ripped out and repaired it as best I could with Gorilla Glue. I thought it was going to look terrible, but it is hidden enough that, even when you look for it, it is hard to tell I needed to do a repair. Still, if you are careful and just insert the pegs into their holes with your fingers you will be fine (again, DO NOT use a hammer). I have only had it for about 2 months, so it is hard to judge durability yet, but it seems to be fine. It works as it should and keeps my dog in when he needs to be in his crate (and he WILL try to get out). I like that there are two doors. I feed him in his crate, so it is nice to have one for him to enter and exit the crate, and another for his food bowl.

We are so pleased with these dog kennels! We bought two of them. One small and one large. They exceeded our expectations. They are very well made. I love the barn door! The pups love their new kennels. And they look so great in the house! Way better than the wire crates. The assembly was easy and instructions were straight forward. The locks and latches are perfect. Definitely worth every penny. Oh, and they arrived quicker than the expected delivery date!

We bought this crate for our dachshund puppy, Winston. While it looks nice, the design has some significant flaws that make it frustrating to use every single day. First, our puppy is actually able to unlatch the hook from inside the crate. Because of this, you have to secure both the hook latch and the lower lock every time, or there's a chance your dog could get the door open. That seems like a major design oversight. The biggest issue, though, is the sliding barn door. It constantly comes off the track or doesn't engage correctly, so the door won't open or close smoothly. We've also had our puppy's paws get caught while opening the door because of how poorly it slides. When you're crate training and opening and closing the crate multiple times a day, this quickly becomes incredibly frustrating. Overall, it looks attractive, but the functionality doesn't match the appearance. If I were buying again, I would choose a crate with a more reliable door design.
