  • Love the mouse, not so much in love with the software
Style: Mouse
Update after 8 months of use: Up until the last week I still felt the same as my original review. Still hate the RGB and the fact that you can't turn it off without keeping the hyperx app running in the background. But as of last week, the scroll wheel has died. Started getting intermittent then got buggy, bouncing back and forth even with scrolling in one direction only, then just quit all together. I suggest passing on this mouse. The build quality just isn't there. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ Original Review: The mouse works great. Plenty responsive and accurate, buttons feel good, wheel isn't noisy but does have detentes, which I like. My primary complaint is the stupid flashing color cycling logo. The only way to turn it off is to leave the HyperX NGENUITY software running at all times. I wouldn't mind but you can't minimize it to the system tray, it's always there on your task bar as a running program. If the flashing logo could be disabled without leaving the software running or the software could be minimized to the system tray, I'd give it 5 stars. ... show more

  • Arrived broken
Style: Mouse
Mouse is a bit heavier, and the mouse buttons a bit more (aurally) clicky and (physically) bouncy than the mice I'm familiar with (that being both cheap ones and ones in a similar price range to this one). I'm actually having the impression that $5 mice have more responsive buttons, due to the delay that the "bounce" of the buttons causes. I believe the clicking is about on par with a mechanical keyboard in volume. The cable is fluid enough, but a bit shorter than all the other mice I've used [making it impossible to reach the top of my desk from the back USB ports, forcing me to plug it into the front], and a bit draggy if you don't give it a bit of coil by the mouse [though still less draggy than a heavy stiff cable]. The mouse wheel isn't especially pleasant to use, due mostly to an uncomfortable surface design. The middle button actually felt more like a proper mouse button than the left and right ones, and seemed responsive enough. Basic assessment aside, my experience with the mouse was overall a disaster. Upon hooking it up to my PC, the mouse failed to respond properly on any surface I put it to, as well as to both rapid and carefully inched motions. Regardless of attempt, it alternated between having a sort of delayed, jolting response to motion [the cursor basically hopping across the screen in a manner usually reserved for when your system memory is locked up] and having making shorter but similarly delayed jumps that then flickered a bit around the initial stopping position. Thus, in the first case, you have to guess where it'll land and, in the second instance, you might be able to get it to land near a button only to flicker off by a cusror length immediately after. I downloaded the management software for the company's products, but clicking the executable took me to an install confirmation prompt that, when accepted, simply vanished without actually proceeding to any kind of installation. Top quality, that. Looking at the software images provided in the Amazon listing, I notice that the sensor has a bright red glow similar to all other mice I've used. For the mouse I received, I had to put my eye right up touching the mouse just to see a very faint glow deep inside the mouse. With that in mind, I'm inclined to believe my issue was less one of general mouse quality or software configuration, and more of having a faulty sensor light. Either way, even if I did simply have a defective mouse, the overall quality of the mouse simply did not impress me for its price range. As I noted at the start, nearly every component of the mouse was far lower quality than I was expecting. The only redeemable parts- the grip/surface and the middle button, were simply average in quality, not notably standing out against budget mice. In the end, this mouse had nothing to offer but massive disappointment. ... show more

  • The garbage software makes it unusable.
Style: Mouse
The point of getting this mouse was to be able to adjust my dpi for better accuracy. The software, however, is absolute garbage. The new beta software doesn’t save changes you make to the mouse at all, matter what you try. When you go to the subreddit for support on this, the company rep just gives a link to the old software. When you install the old software, you cannot left or right click anything unless you plug in a second mouse to change the settings for your new one. But remapping the buttons properly and clicking save and apply does nothing to fix them. It is sad that a decent product is held back by its software. I found the much nicer $70 Logitech g403 Prodigy for $30 on ebay instead if anyone is shopping for a superior FPS mouse. ... show more

  • Good with some drawbacks.
Style: Mouse
I really like the mouse. Unfortunately I have to give it a 2 star review because in 3 months its developed the dreaded double clicking issue in the left button for no reason. I already contacted hyperX technical support to see what I can do to fix it and they have yet to reply even though its been about 2 weeks. Very disappointed. Will not be buying any mice of theirs again. ... show more

don't buy this. the mouse is ok, but the software is the worst I've ever seen in my life, impossible to configure, and their customer service is awful. must be too much to ask to rebuild a $5 app so you can configure these things.

  • 4.5 out of 5 due to price. Its well worth $25. It over performs.
Style: Mouse
I paid $25 + tax when this same mouse sells for approx. $69.99 at the Microsoft store near me. For the $25 to $35 range, this mouse is very worth it. But for the $70 range, I would go for a Logitech personally. I am happy with the purchase. This mouse is way better than the mouse I was using for gaming. This is a great solution for a poor gaming mouse needing a replacement. ... show more

  • it’s a mouse, works pretty well
Style: Mouse
I’m not the kind of person who uses all the latest and greatest gaming devices but this is working well. Much more responsive than the bluetooth one I was using before and the bottom is really really smooth so it’s easier to play fps games and the like. The buttons on the side are well placed and definitely super usefully for mapping as my push to talk button instead of trying to use my pinky while also trying not to die. all the buttons are really easy to click compared to standard mouses (mice?) which was frustrating at first but I actually like it the more I’ve used it. Also the colored lights are fun ... show more
