  • Comfortable and useful
Color: Black/Red Size: Regular Style: Wireless
I used the Cloud 2 for a long time and now after switching to the Cloud 3 Wireless it honestly feels like they just fixed everything that bothered me before. Comfort is the first thing you notice, the ear pads are softer, it doesn’t squeeze your head, and I can keep it on for hours without feeling tired. The sound is cleaner too, footsteps and small details in games are easier to pick out and the bass is strong without turning muddy like the Cloud 2 sometimes did. The mic is clearer, my friends on Discord noticed right away. Battery life is great, I only charge it every couple of days and the wireless connection never dropped or lagged for me. Build quality feels solid with the metal frame and the headset doesn’t feel cheap at all. Only small downside is the dongle being a bit big, and switching devices isn’t super smooth. The mic still isn’t studio level but it’s completely fine for gaming. Overall, coming from the Cloud 2, this feels like a straight upgrade in comfort, sound and battery. It’s just a really good headset to use every day. ... show more

  • No BS, amazing for a gaming headset
Color: Black Size: Regular Style: Wireless
I only use this for gaming on my PC, and it's amazing. There's no BS to it. I don't need ANC, Bluetooth, RBG, swiveling ear cups, or more switches/buttons. I don't use it outside of gaming on my PC, I don't stream, I don't record audio/video, nor do I use it to watch videos or movies. I just need it for gaming and to communicate with friends in-game or in discord. This does exactly what I want it to do, does it very well, and is super comfortable. I initially got the Logitech G Pro X 2, which was nice as well, but I was having connectivity issues with it and decided to return it and got the Cloud III wireless instead. Super happy and no regrets at all. My only wishes was that I prefer switches, rather than buttons. I like to slide the power button on/off, instead of having to press and hold a button for 2-3 seconds, but that's not a big deal. The USB-C cable that comes with it is short and should have been at least 2-3 times longer. It's fine for charging while not in use, but it's too short and you most likely won't be able to charge while gaming. This is not as big of a deal because we have plenty of other longer USB-C cables we can use. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone that wants it for gaming, and even when I listen to music on YouTube, it sounds excellent. Update: The microphone sample rate and bit depth defaults to 16000 Hz for the microphone on this headset, but you can change this to 32000 Hz and it makes the mic so much clearer and better. Just go to PC sound settings > microphone properties > advanced tab, and change the format from 16000 to 32000 Hz, apply, and save. ... show more

  • HyperX has some very intelligent designers and engineers. This is almost perfect for the price.
Color: Black Size: Regular Style: Wireless
+ Comfortable + Well built + Sound quality, out of the box EQ is pretty flat. It perfectly cuts the harsh/piercing treble range, which can quickly cause listener fatigue. For my ears, it’s darn near perfect and not at all fatiguing for long sessions. They chose an inoffensive, warm sound profile that should sound good with anything you throw at it. Games, music or movies. Although, this is very subjective. If you love bass, you’ll want to EQ it. + Imaging is very good. Soundstage is above average. Angled drivers should be on every gaming headset. I have no trouble at all pinpointing exact locations in FPS. + Mic quality is very good. (Required a setting change in Windows for best performance). + Mic Monitoring on this headset is the best I've ever heard, very natural sounding with little delay. + Battery life could literally last you over a month. + USB 2.4ghz transmitter gives you the choice of USB-C or USB-A via an adapter. + Wireless range is extremely wide, bathroom trips are not an issue. + Easy to clean. + Easily get an accurate battery percentage. Tap the power button and a voice will tell you. + Ngenuity Software is very well polished and is downloaded via the Microsoft Store. + I hate background software, thankfully Ngenuity is not required. Although you should update firmware. There are some negatives; - Headset gets warm, I'm ok with this, some might not be. I prefer a headset that is easy to clean over one with cloth earpads that stays cool. - No Bluetooth. - In Windows 10/11, the Mic defaults to 16000hz. Change it to 32000hz in your Microphone Properties/Advanced tab. You’ll notice a huge increase in quality. This mic is actually very good, but if you hear people saying it sucks, it’s because the default setting handicaps the quality. - They use DTS X instead of Dolby Atmos for their spatial sound. It's not great, just use Windows Sonic. - DTS X driver is required for you to be able to EQ the headset. And as far as I can tell, EQ settings are not saved, the software must be running. PlayStation users be aware. (Although the stock EQ is damn near perfect to me). - No Xbox Compatibility. This is the first headset I've used where the negatives have no affect on my experience. Which is why I believe it is the best sub $200 PC gaming headset available. I have no idea how it would work with Playstation, but I'd guess it is also pretty damn good there as well. I will be using this for years to come. ... show more

  • Wow! So this is what I've been missing.
Color: Black/Red Size: Regular Style: Wireless
For the last few years, I've been rocking a cheap but decent gaming headphones that are wired with an audio jack and USB to power up the lighting effects. (90% of the time, I never bother to plug in that part of the cable. My biggest issue with my old headphones was the metal tension band that connects to each earphone. Anything that barely touched that metal and the sound was amplified 20x louder into my ears. The amount of times I snagged my all metal watch band against it would be a deafening reminder. So I'm in the process of redoing my gaming set up and one issue I have is the tangled mess of cables. I have a VR headset wired to my pc, wired Xbox controller, wired keyboard, wired HOTAS flight stick and throttle and a USB hub that had 4 type c cables and a micro USB cable for charging battery's and devices. When I opened the box I immediately put them on to test fit and WOW! The way the earohones cups and cradles my ears with the soft plushy foam cushions and the ambient sounds dropped to soft muffled hums. I wear glasses and my old set would dig the arms of my glasses against my ears and head and it would ache. Once I fell asleep accidentally and top of my right ear developed a bleeding sore. It's hard to explain it but these have a premium feel and the build quality is excellent. Comparing them both in each hand that the hyper x are heavier than my old pair but feels like a light fluffy cloud hugging my head. I'm using the USB dongle connection for the lowest latency wireless option and the charge has lasted me the weekend. The mic quality is so much better that all my online friends were blown away on the night and day difference of sound quality. Yesterday I was on a payphone and now it's like I'm in the same room. You get a type c to type c cable and a soft satiny draw string travel/storage pouch. On the left ear is the mic l, type c connecttion and behind that is both power and mute buttons. On the right ear is a scrolling volume wheel. It doesn't regulate the volume on the head set. It's synced to the Media volume control on my PC. The wheel has a resistance to it that's gives it a very smooth rotation to the touch. Please excuse the mess in the background, at the time of making this video, I was building a gaming desk and have already removed the wires keyboard, headphones and mouse from the tangled rats nest of cables . ... show more

  • you get what you pay for... sort of
Color: Black/Red Size: Regular Style: Wireless
EDIT: i went through my words and my review and i said to myself "nah, this can't be right" then i went to 2 configurations (screenshots attached): 1. the dolby atmos app where you can see specifically how i eq'd for most app's, music and movies and 2. the ngnuity app that also have its own eq... unfortunately both have to be turned on in order to squeeze the full potential of the headphone, BUT in order to avoid the "box-feeling" sound (or at least eliminate it 85%), do not turn on the virtual surround in any app and maintain the eq the same as me. i used a few spotify tracks to properly eq according to several frequencies that may help you find the correct eq through the days but remember: there's a period of burn-in for headphones/earphones, it varies depends on the diaphragms and its own construction, this is not in our control, however, we can develop it by using it on a daily basis... with high-end headphones/earphones this is a must so you can get the best sound in time... this is the case for all headsets, but mid-ends may not see the same effect as high-end headsets... here are the spotify tracks i used to eq: - in my place - coldplay - funk that - nickodemus, the illustrious black - if anyone cared - nickelback (i know, but its eq it's quite helpful) - show me love - robin s - gangsta's paradise - coolio, l.v. - i get lonely (tnt remix edit) - janet jackson, blackstreet, teddy riley i didn't post any pictures of the device since you can find it from other users that have more experience on that field than i am, but regarding this nitpicky audio thing, here i am. i really hope it helps you to make an informed decision. i still stand by my original review but, with the corrections mentioned above regarding sound :D have a great day! ORIGINAL REVIEW: Well... i have a love-hate relationship with this headphone for the following reasons: Design (which is actually ok, i'll give them that, with small caveats): i'm aware that there are people who are more... visually-appealed (so to speak) to stuff and this may not be the one, but functionally it's good! Everything is where it should be, however! (yes, oh dear!) the power button is next to the mute button on the left side, WHY?! who was so against the company that made this decision that went through the whole pipeline without even notice the final product until it hit the shelves? Construction (LOVE IT! PERIOD!): The construction is actually very sturdy and solid, love it from every angle, the earcups swivels a little bit so you can accommodate them to your head or when you put the headsets on your neck stays naturally "at ease", you know?... from this perspective, the construction is not what i expected (i actually expected a cheaper feeling, but it feels a more premium device to be perfectly honest!). It kinda works for long periods of time if you are a regular human being who doesn't sweat so much like me, otherwise, have AC on your room for longer than half an hour of listening. Sound (now this i loathe, kinda... here's where the love-hate conflict is): well... there are certain applications that really does sound good, others really flat, others really hollow and others without bass but in general, the issue is in the lack of middle and mid-lo's, which makes it sound almost like a box, but with too much high and mid-hi's. HOWEVER, it's perfectly balanceable with the Dolby Atmos App in Windows 10/11, but i'm not going to EQ everything i do every time in my computer, who does that these days? i just want something that it's functional and sounds good for long periods of time! is that too much to ask? (well yeah, for less than 100 bucks yeah... i can certify that.... these audiophile ears are way too nitpicky these days). Battery: well this is a surprise to be honest, i wasn't expecting it to last THAT long... i do 12 hour listening sessions and it lasts a lot... i don't count much but in a week maybe 2 times in a week, could be fair?... i don't know for sure cos i really lose the track of time when i get into the headphones... but if you want a headphone that lasts its battery a lot, well here you have it... i don't even notice it during the week (this means a lot to me! don't think that i take for granted what the company gives us with this headphone) until the headset starts a gentle beep to let you know that it's below 25% i think... i don't even remember that much because by the time i start hearing the beep i already take out the headset and put it to charge. Charging time: well i wouldn't know, maybe an hour or 2?... i have several headphones that helps the way, so i wouldn't notice how many hours it takes, the only thing that i notice is that it charges surprisingly fast (well, also time flies, don't take my word for it tho). If you go to bed time and you get up to go to the bathroom at 2 am, it will be charged by then... that's a certainty... YOU CAN use it while it charges, it won't heat the battery within (unlike many many headsets out there... if your current headset heats during charge while on your head and listening, stop using it immediately!). Microphone: It sounds... good? i think?... people hears me loud and clear on discord, which is the whole point of it (although discord have its own issues, so, test it locally within your computer and do not trust discord!) it's a very sensitive server that: it doesn't wanna recognize devices (or if it does, it doesn't work), if the devices works, then there's stuttering, cut audios, you name it, you know all these stuff like i do as well, you know the struggle!... If you purchase this product then FIRST test it on your computer, if it works well there then trust me, it's your application, not your microphone! Oh i almost forgot about the headband! i'm a bald guy so i kinda can see the band on my head when i take out my headphones... i personally love it because then people "notices that i work too much and too hard" and i'm like "yeah right! XD"... this is a paramount wisdom that i will give you that this headset have that almost no other headset have: if you press it too hard to your head it will stay with a similar pressure but at a comfortable level, but don't complain later about that you get a soar ear/face or a band mark on top of your head because it will make you hurt if you press it too hard, let it sit on you and get use to it. The earcup simil leather is a special case, it's hot but at the same time it's not... it kinda wants to accommodate to you but it kinda doesn't... i don't know "how to feel about this" (which i honestly at this point i don't care), but some people may worry or feel uncomfortable about it, so i'll leave it here just in case.. maybe with a few more hundreds of "burn-in hours" may found the proper wear for my face? We don't know... only time will tell... i don't think about it when i put it, i just think like "oh my god what a bad sound, but it does sounds good tho" If you read this, it means that you're seriously considering to purchase this product... if you don't honestly mind the kinda-hollow sound that some apps may have (you may not notice) and you're looking for something that potentially could last you a few years and spare the mistreated wallet, then go for it, you won't regret the purchase, that's a guarantee and i'm saying this because that's exactly the reason that i bought it and probably the reason you will as well, including a very valid reason: it's functional without needing to baby the product! (i know! right?! finally!) BUT i you are looking for a high-end sound with neutral balance or warm sound with balance mids, lo's and hi's, for below 99 dollars (before taxes), trust me, there's no such device and this product DEFINETLY is not for you, look elsewhere without even hesitation... ALL devices that you're looking for worth from 399 and above (maybe 299 but that's a stretch these days). ... show more

  • Drivers and Sound Quality
Color: Black Size: Regular Style: Wireless
Just for reference I returned these because as a customer if the unit has a service that is required for functionality. It must be able to accomplish it. Otherwise it is a defective product or just junk. When I got these they initially seemed to work. Then the software began updating the headset. That's where it ends. That's the story. No lie. I got to test the sound a little and honestly it felt a little flat. OK very flat. It's ranges didn't seem to really pop and everything felt one dimensional. Then the software update came, and that's it. It wouldn't update. It just continuously demanded an update be done... it just failed. I had essentially a pair of headsets without functionality. It was frustrating to see a new set of headphones be brought down by software updates. After reading the issue being very common on these I didn't want to torture myself and returned these and just ended up with the new ASTRO A50x. I had worked in the past with an older version of the A50 and thought they sounded darn good. But their price tag was always too dramatic. After testing out some headphones and giving these a try, I realized the high price was being put to good use. I know this is suppose to be a review of the HyperX, but the A50x really do sound rich and clean. They also feel very comfortable. I am aware of the claims of parts coming off but honestly the same claim was made of the older ones I worked with and, they never fell apart. Considering their work environment was rather brutal, it says a lot to me. Don't be mistaken though, these headsets and the A50x are not in the same league. The ASTRO are expensive, but to me worth the money. I had a while back a HyperX headset that I loved. But this was not even a shred of what my old ones were. I can not recommend these. ... show more

  • Best Headset I've Ever Owned
Color: Black/Red Size: Regular Style: Wireless
I decided to re-write my old review to again state how superb of a headset this is. Pros: -Mic quality is PEAK. In fact, it was the whole reason I bought it in the first place. -Battery life is top notch. I think the box advertises a 120 hour lifespan? If so, it's more than true. I can go a full week using it 8-16 hours a day and only have to charge it once for a few hours. -Very comfortable, probably the most comfortable headset I've owned. The earmuffs haven't fallen apart one bit which is surprising because of the pleather material they're made from -It's wireless, which is a big bonus Cons: -There is no spitguard around the micpiece -Speaking of the micpiece, it's not a flip-up one. It's a 3.5mm detachable mic which for me I have no problem with but others might -I bought this thing back in October 2023 but not many people have written reviews about long-term ownership so let me beware you right now: The charging port cable *will* break with frequent abuse. After 3 years of dropping it on hardwood floors, hitting the sides on the screen by accident, and company being rough with it, the headset no longer charges due to the aforementioned charging port cable breaking. This is not a fault of HyperX but rather a user error that I still put under the cons section to let people know about. Treat this thing well and it can easily last you 5 years! ... show more

  • Best HyperX Cloud Yet
Color: Black/Red Size: Regular Style: Wireless
I think that they finally made the perfect gaming headset. They have always been the best in class regarding sound quality at this price point. The multiple iterations of the Cloud have largely been the company slowly addressing points of failure and upgrading things like its connectivity and surround-sound software. In the original Clouds, the hinge that attached the earcup to the headphone band was external and held in place by a cheap plastic piece that eventually just cracked over time regardless of how careful you were. This was the most common point of failure, so they changed it. The Cloud 2 had the first internal hinge on the earcup and it solved the problem perfectly. Unfortunately, it merely moved the common failure point up the headband to the cheap plastic cuff that they used to secure the metal forks to the rest of the headband. In the Cloud 2, this plastic cuff would eventually break even with very careful treatment due to the torque that is placed on it so that the earcups conform to people's heads. In the Cloud 3, they finally got it right: Internal cup hinges with a metal cuff to attach the ear forks. Perfect. I keep examining these for the next probable point of failure and I really can't think of any. So, now you can get some of the best sound in the industry in a tank-like package that should last ages. They finally ditched the foam pop filter, which I never had a problem with but might degrade over time. The new mic is still decent but probably not the best sound quality in comparison to some competitors. Probably one of the coolest things that I did not expect was that the receiver dongle comes with an extension that allows for either USB-C or USB connectivity. If I were to wager, this is the most likely point of failure if you use this with a laptop or are taking the dongle out frequently because it is a little delicate and long with the USB-A attachment on. It is a really cool feature that expands the headset's compatibility with recently released laptops with only USB-C ports. ... show more
