I was surprised by the negative reviews of this device so I've decided to leave my own. Although it's not perfect, I believe this device is a must-have for PS4 users that own headphones/headsets which only connect via 3.5mm audio jack. I recently bought the HyperX Clouds (console version), because they have less impedance than the standard version, which in theory was supposed to help increase the volume levels in games, etc. However, it was still not loud enough for me while gaming on the ps4, and the Blu Ray movies were basically unwatchable due to extremely low volume levels. This device fixed all of these issues! There's plenty of juice for Blu Ray movies, let alone the games. The build quality is very decent and it seats very firmly on controller. Although it might feel bulky for some players, I personally only use my pointer fingers on the triggers, so there's no discomfort whatsoever. Now to the bad parts. Although this amp does what it's supposed to, it also does distort the sound a tiny bit, which is not very noticeable and for what it's worth, is very much worth it in my opinion. The other thing is that there's noticeable hiss in the background, however as some other reviewers mentioned it is only distracting and apparent when you pause your game, movie, etc. Last con is that this amp cannot be charged and used at the same time. However, you can charge your controller & amp together in between your gaming sessions. Overall, this device is very solid, especially for its price. Therefore it gets my well deserved 5 stars!

Took a chance and bought this without any reviews posted, and I'm pretty happy. I have a very expensive surround sound system and I would like to use it, but I still need to chat. I'm using this to amplify a TRITTON Kaiken Mono Chat Headset. It's just one ear, and it has slots to let sound pass through, so I can listen to my surround sound. Without the amplifier, chat was just too low, especially when using the in-game chat and not a chat party through PSN. Well this thing can certainly crank up the chat audio! I certainly can't comment on how it sounds with a regular headset, but it fits my needs perfectly. Talk time seems to be around 7 hoursish, but I guess that all depends on what your trying to amplify. Build quality is OK. Not the highest quality plastic and a bit difficult to read writing over the buttons. I try not to leave the bottom extended out when I have it off the controller, seems like it wouldn't take too much force to snap it off. Apparently the only purpose of the mini-usb that plugs into the controller, is to keep it mounted on the controller. It will not charge the controller when a cord is hooked up to the amplifier, it will only charge the amplifier. Once you plug the bottom of the amplifier to the controller, all audio is transferred to it, regardless if you have the amplifier powered on or not. If not powered on, no audio passes through it, mic or headphones. Played a game one night for an hour an realized I had never turned amplifier on. Doesn't add too much weight to the controller. When I first put it on and held the controller, I wasn't happy with how the controller felt in my hands, but after playing a game with it on for a bit, I adapted just fine. Why doesn't it get 5 stars? I received no instructions or charging cord. There is a code on the back you can scan for instructions. Last thing I need is another cord, but I have plenty of others, but, it is supposed to come with it. You should be able to charge the controller while plugged it, not just the amplifier, missed opportunity(easier said the done i'm sure). So I can definitely say if you want to improve the power to your earbud that came with PS4 and other mono headsets, this is the ticket. I'm sure it would boost the sound going to a set of earbuds, just can't comment on any sound degradation or sound quality. Best thing is the price. While searching for other options, the only similar product I could find was an Insignia product from BB, but that received poor reviews. Overall, I'm happy I took the chance.

Great tool to boost volume. At max output yes you can hear some minor white noise during ambient moments but really not a bother. This sound is only noticeable when you boost past around +50%, but I don’t find myself having to bring it that loud. This tool does the job without using its full capabilities, just gotta tweak around and find the right vol:bass level for you! The overall sound does slightly degrade from being filtered through this tool however, probably going from 100% quality-wise w/ direct connection to 85-90%. Only noticeable with voices for the most part. Personally did not find this to be an issue/deal breaker. As far as comfort it’s definitely a little different than what I was used to but nothing I couldn’t get past. I actually like the feel now and the added weight is a plus as well. EDIT: product stopped giving audio output after 2 months, contacted seller and have yet to hear back

I usually wear hearing aids, and didn’t need them with my previous headset. However, the old one started to fall apart after many years of use, and bought one that plugs in directly to my PS4 controller. Headset was comfortable, but the volume (for me) was lacking. I looked around at other amplifiers, but they were all fairly expensive for me, more of a casual gamer. Enter the Hyperkin PS4 Siren Headphone amplifier. Product arrived with a charge, so it was ready to go right out of the box. No instructions, but was pretty simple to figure out. Latch slides out, line up the plug on the controller, slide and lock the latch, plug in your headphones, press the power/mute button, and you’re good to go. I’ve played several hours with it in the last week or two, everything from FPS to sports games, and the audio quality is great. Definitely makes a big difference for me. You can adjust the volume and the bass via buttons on the unit itself very easily. It takes a few minutes to get used to, but isn’t terribly obtrusive. If you’re looking to give the volume and bass of your headphones a boost, and don’t want to spend a lot of money on a mixer-amplifier, I would definitely recommend this product.

The adapter does what it says it boost volume and bass and I really liked that. But it takes an hour and a half to get a full charge to use, and about 8 to 10 hrs. of playtime before it needs charged again. You can't turn it on when its charging. The box it came in had a big rip on the front of it. Also just like some other reviews have said, it didn't come with a charging cable or instruction manual even though it says it does on the box. It makes the PS4 controller uncomfortable to use if you have big hands like I do. All in All the product works but it's not needed, their are better alternatives.

I have mixed feelings about this amp. On one hand the amp does everything that it says it will do. It increases the sound and bass quiet nicely with an added benefit of having volume control over both. However, After only 1 use it seems the power port had fallen out. In all honesty I’m not sure exactly what happened, but I am definitely disappointed in its flimsyness. On one hand it’s an awesome piece of tech on the other hand it’s obviously quiet cheaply made. My suggestion to anyone that buys this amp is to baby this product. I wouldn’t suggest using the feature of charging both the amp and the controller at the same time because you risk damaging the port of the amp. Use them separately and charge them separately. Because I have a replacement coming so I’m not totally disjointed in this review, but I do hope that in the future this company can reinforce this product and make it higher quality. In my opinion this amp is an awesome value it’s just not constructed as such.

Purchased two HyperX cloud 2 headphones for me and my girlfriend to rip up fortnite with. Connected to the duel shock 4 controller the sound was so quit and horrible the ds4 simply dint have enough power to run the hyperX. For myself I picked up the 130$ astro gaming MixAmp. But I decided to get my girlfriend this 10$ thingy to try it and see how it works. This product does exactly what is intended. It is not a battery back it is a small amp that runs more power to a gaming headset. Don’t get me wrong this thing can’t compete with the 130$ Astro 7.1 surround sound feel. But my girlfriend can no longer listen to the headphones maxed out because it is now too loud, the bass is much better and her headphones now sound much better than my old pair of wireless turtle beaches. For 10$ this thing is amazing! If money isn’t a factor for you and you have have an extra 130$ go Astro. Otherwise buy this product and save up

Background: - I game on a PS4 Pro with a headset connected directly to my controller through the 3.5mm headphone jack. - I usually play first person shooters such as BF4 and adventure games such as Horizon Zero Dawn Problem: - The max volume of the headset when connected through the controller is way too low. Solution: - I purchased this amplifier. Pros: - This amplifier has increased the max volume of my headset by about 50%-75%. - The battery lasts at least 4 hours. I haven't had a chance yet to measure the battery with a full charge. - The amplifier doubles as a battery pack for the controller. - The controller and the amplifier can be charged together without having to take them apart using the micro USB port on the amplifier. - Great price - Looks genuine Cons: - There is a constant hiss in the background. It can only be heard when pausing the game or when the volume is off. - The amplifier is bulky but adjusting to it only took a few minutes. I would consider this bulk a possible issue only for first person shooters, but certainly not for adventure games. Conclusion: I would definitively recommend this amplifier to those that need to amplify the volume of their headset when connected to the controller. Good purchase and can't beat the price
