  • Excellent reference book, but highly recommend it.
Format: Paperback
Great reference book and would highly recommend if you were in the business of designing HVAC systems or just wanting an excellent reference source. Lots of great rules of thumb information in quick calculation methods. I was always borrowing this book from other fellow engineers so I decided to buy my own. ... show more

  • Every thing you need
Format: Paperback
I have been designng HVAC systems for over 35 years, during that time i have accumlated much in the way of reference materials, formulas, etc. Now I discover this book and wish it had been there with me at the start. If you're in the early days of your career, this is the one book you should get. It is extremely well organized and will save you lots of time sizing and specifying materials and equipment. ... show more

  • Great info - Lacking an index
Format: Paperback
This book is a great top-line summary of all four ASHRAE books, approximate ventilation standards, and I am constantly using the first few pages of equations and conversions. The rules of thumb are well thought out and the design standards are excellent thought provokers for design - a great book for an HVAC specialist - or in my case, someone preparing for the Mechanical PE Exam, HVAC focus (again - the equation section was extremely helpful!) My biggest complaint about this book is that it lacks a solid index. If you are looking for a topic, you must flip through the table of contents and hopefully find what you want - that's the primary reason I can't give it a higher rating! This book won't displace your ASHRAE books...you'll still need them for sure, but it can certainly be a great supplement and "quick" reference book for sure! ... show more

  • Did research on this book already (I knew the contents of it)
Format: Paperback
Excellent book touches on many conditions and situations and covers both A/C and Refrigeration complete with codes. Highly suggest this book on the shelf for any company or engineering dept as it is a wealth of information in a rather small book that can easily be put in employees trucks. • Ideal reference for anyone working in HVAC
Format: Paperback
This is not a book about theory. This book does not explain the physics behind HVAC concepts. However, if you have a good background in HVAC, especially as a design or construction engineer, this is a MUST OWN. Has formulas, conversions, and industry standard rules of thumbs. I reference this book on a regular basis. ... show more

  • My second copy
Format: Paperback
This is a great book to keep around unless you can remembers 1000's of formula's for common HVAC calculations. Covers a much wider scope than just HVAC and is concise. This new addition updates code related content from the previous version.
