The advertised dimensions of this paper are a bit misleading. The actual size of the usable colored area of the paper is 14 3/16" x 9 3/4". The backing paper that you remove when using it is larger and provides about a 1/2" wide border around the colored area accounting for the larger dimensions. I deducted one star for this. The paper is easy to apply. You just cut out an appropriate size piece, soak it in water to remove the white backing, then slide the color sheet onto the item you want to mark. The instructions are a bit confusing in this regard because they tell you to put the white side on the material to be marked, but there is no white side once you remove the backing. The marking material is the same color on both sides. I think they meant the side that was white before you removed the backing material. My intended use is on glass, which turned out to be pretty tricky. If you use too much power with the laser, you wind up etching the glass you're attempting to mark and the marks fall away along with the glass that was etched . I also have a fairly powerful laser, 80 watt CO2, so I had to run it at minimum power to get acceptable results. I think it might be easier for someone with a diode laser or with a different substrate such as acrylic. My tests were done on 3mm clear glass, using black paper. I found that 13% power at 15 mm/s gave the best results, although it isn't as dark as I would like. 13% power at 10 mm/s also worked pretty well but seemed to be losing a bit of detail, which I think may have been due to glass etching. Surprisingly, I also got pretty good, and darker, results at 16% powder at 10 mm/s, but I think it looks a little blown out. You can see my test results in the photos.
