I just got these; so of course I can't vouch for how they would handle a storm first hand, but I test fit some wood and after living through many Florida hurricanes, I feel confident that they will have no trouble. Once properly mounted, the plywood is super secure and takes an effort to remove. I used 1/2 plywood and that seems to be the perfect fit. Get pressure treated plywood, not that junk particle board they have in the picture. I've used the same set of clips to test 4 windows and the clips are starting to change shape a little, but hey, if they only last 1 or 2 storms, I still consider it a bargain. One small negative for me is that the handles are small, I can't fit 4 fingers into them, and I'm an average sized guy. I'm leaning towards not using them anyway as it makes storing the wood awkward as it no longer stacks well. Now I just need to figure how to secure my sliding glass doors..

We purchased these last year, and they worked great. We just needed more for this season. They're fairly easy to install. Save those instructions, if you've never used them before! Trust me, they really do hold a board inside your window sills! It really gives us piece of mind when bad storms rolls around. Removing them was fairly easy too. Maybe a few scratches upon removal, but that can be easily touched up with paint. Definitely worth feeling a little safer! Get them now before the storms, or they may be hard to find. We used four on each window. (We were short a few, and two will hold it up as well)

These clips are awesome! It only took an hour for me to board up my entire house (not including the time it took to cut the plywood to size and weatherproof it). I have not tried to remove the clips yet but after installing them they are so secure I think I may need to cut a few of them to remove the boards from my windows. A small price to pay to protect my home! Highly recommend!

These clips were a life saver during our last hurricane. Debris was flying everywhere, wind was over 100 mph, and these clips kept the boards over our windows. Whoever invented these is genius- a simple yet perfect solution for boarding without drilling.
