First of all - regardless of what I try to tell my wife I am not a pro fisherman…. (Thankfully this is mostly anonymous). Took this out several times this year and it works amazing (much better if you remember to remove the cover - oops) letting you see structure at the bottom - by the end of our week long fishing trip we were getting to where we could pick out fish to target. Super easy to install - don’t forget the drain wire - it is a must and can be hooked with the ground in a pinch or fiberglass boats. Very clear and I caught it on sale so definitely feel I got the value. Does drain the battery a bit - make sure you are charging nightly!

Prime Marine shipped the unit promptly no complaint with them. The product worked for less than one day while I was setting up my electronics, one side of the transducer stopped working after I updated my xplore 12 software. I have a networked system on my boat operating with an explore 9 at the console and the12 at the bow. while troubleshooting the system I reset all units to factory default, verified all operating systems were on the updated software and both control heads showed only half the 360 degree sweep. when I set the unit to side imaging only one side showed. when I set the unit to 455 MHz I got blurred returns on the bad side. all other sonars, CHIRP on my Ulterra and the transducer on the aft work great. disappointed I have to send it in for warranty work before I even used it on the lake

With the Y cable you cannot use the main transducer for side imaging- the 360 has to be in the water and on the stern of my boat , the lock down nuts vibrate distorting the view , as well as risk losing the unit overboard. Not a great design or product . Works great sitting still but the disabled side imaging negates any benefit from the 360.

I've got the down/side scan and it's amazing. But with the Mega 360 imaging by Humminbird my Helix 12 can see whats under the boat in a 360deg field of view while sitting still. Cat fishermen you have to get this item! I can keep up with the aquatic activity as it happens. Love this!!!!
