I ordered 2 of these units for my bass boat. These units include the micro sd map data cards. One of my units was missing it's card. The envelope was there for the card but it was empty. I reached out to Humminbird multiple times and got the whole "we will look into it" spill and never heard back. I kept contacting them and eventually they quit responding to me all together. Bottom line is these units are nice, they work well, but if you have a problem, forget about it. Humminbird will not help you. This will be my last Humminbird purchase. ... show more

Update: Service is decent(added a star). Not great that I had to spend almost another $100 on it due to design defect, but the service was quick and not a hassle. Will see how long this 3rd unit lasts, that is after breaking out the silicone to try to make it at least a bit water resistant. Again if the unit will never get any water near it and you dont keep it near the ocean, you should be fine with it. If its in a marine or wet environment, I would think twice. Original: Poor water sealing, around the buttons. The design of the buttons allow for water to enter and build up around the power button until it causes a failure where the power button gets stuck on. Have had 2 units fail in the same way. They usually last for about 6-8months before the failure. On a positive note humminbird warranty was a pretty easy process and new unit was shipped quickly. New unit only lasted 6 months before failing the same way and was out of warranty by then. How long your unit last will depend on how wet it gets. My scenario is about 2 uses a week. Unit never gets wet but my boat does get some mist that hits it, and thus i do use a hose with a shower nozzle from 3-5ft away to rinse it off. So with that level of use and water touching the unit, 6-8months. If the unit never gets wet, it will probably last you a long time, unless you keep on the water in salt water, since if water can get in, so can the salt air. Unit is pretty easy to disassembly and can be dried out. Seems to work after this and cleaning the power contacts, but based on experience that will last only 6 months before it will need to be done again, and obviously long term the continued water intrusion is going to result in a permanent failure in the near future. When it works, it works well enough though. Bit long to get GPS signal lock but not a deal breaker. ... show more
