Meinl timbales, Great quality, sounds great! I am using a Gibraltar 9713PM adjust platform 3 mount stand. Had to be creative, to make it fit. LOVE IT !

Right out of the box, these were tuned perfectly and I haven't had to touch them since. They attach easily to a cymbal stand and are in easy reach next to the floor tom....2 words of caution, though....I bought the Meinl MC1 adjustable clamp to mount them....it's not quite "heavy duty" enough....you may be better off with a (more expensive) Gibraltor product. Also, make sure that the stand that you are attaching them to is heavy duty as well---these babies are HEAVY and will easily tip over a weaker stand. All that being said, the Meinl Mini Timbales are a quality product and sound as good or better than the more expensive Pearl, LP or Taye models. The tone and timbre are brilliant and the rim shots are crisp and clean. Add a cowbell, jam block and mini crash within reach and you're ready to add a Latin flare to whatever project you are working on. ... show more

Ive used these on and off my kit for years. They tune easily, they tune great, and they project very well. They add a nice latin punch to fills, or to just change up the sound of a regular gigging kit. Pros: -The attachment clamps are heavy duty and dont slip, so the drum stays in place and doesn't swing around on the cymbal stand or rod you choose to attach it to -Wonderful sound -High quality construction Cons: None Be Advised: -these are heavy, if lax, your cymbal stand WILL tip over. You need to mount them to a heavy duty double braced cymbal stand with the legs opened all the way, with one of the legs directly under the timbales for best support. -don't use a cheap clamp or rod to attach these to a cymbal stand, buy a Gibraltar. I use the Gibraltar SC-DPLAC Two Post Lrod Attachment 9.5mm. I mount the drums to the low post, and a small cowbell on the tall post ... show more

I have other clamp on timbales that I use on my drum set, but this one is heavy duty! Thick rim too. Due to the lug design you can go with high tension tuning if needed. This is also the heaviest weight one I have so you need a decent stand to attach this to. Sounds authentic and has a good ring to it. ... show more
