Description

A small axe for outdoor use in forests and open land. Made from blasted and clear-lacquered Ironwork, it is also suitable for work in the garden. The shaft is curved and made from hickory. An edge protector is included. The axe is hand-forged and made from Swedish axe steel using traditional methods in use since 1697. The steel is stuck several times, increasing its density and thereby the durability of the axe. Has a clear tempered zone within which the axe can be sharpened whilst not detracting from the strength of the edge. The shaft is made from hickory and treated with Linseed oil.

    • A Functional Swedish Mistress At A Good Price
This axe is big enough and small enough to do most tasks. It will cut big stuff and little stuff, but I wouldn't recommend going after 2 meter thick hardwoods. It's handy enough to throw in a vehicle (or big back pack), and I can use it with either one or two hands to chop stuff. It can make feather sticks, split (not huge) kindling, and carve flat edges on poles to make your tree houses. It has that lovely Swedish steel axe mystique that makes my American, Chinese and Italian axes jealous. I got it on sale pretty cheap on Amazon, so I'm not scared to actually use it, and/or modify it to my liking. It's a beautiful axe, and worth picking up for less than $80. ... show more

    • Good packable axe!
Great axe! Did not get 5 stars because the sheath was junk, and the cutting edge needed reshaping. Otherwise great axe. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a good axe they can pack. Get a good leather sheath made though!
