  • Steal at $40
definitely worth the full list price, at the current price of $40. it is a steal, especially if you have a 3D printer and can print the clips for the quest. 2 and a battery holder

  • Pretty good
I baught this to use for my quest 2 because the elite strap sucks and this is a great and cheaper alternative. Audio quality is good to.

  • Sound improvement for your Meta Quest 2
Following some YouTube videos that used this device to improve the standard sound quality of a normal Meta Quest 2. They really work well and with a simple, cheap adapter (also purchased on Amazon), it fits like a glove. It does make the headset a bit heavier, but the sound quality improvement is worth it to me. ... show more

  • Likely the best strap for Quest 2, but there are a few drawbacks you should know
I used an Elite Battery Strap before getting this one. The battery strap snapped, as they are prone to do, so I decided to switch things up. I had been using a set of EngineeredAF snap on headphones with the Elite strap which use Koss Porta Pro drivers. They were a great step up from the Quest's built in audio, so I wanted something that would be at least as good. The audio of the Vive DAS has better bass and is at least on par with the Koss Porta Pro. It has a slightly more enclosed sound than a true open back headphone like the Koss drivers. The Vive DAS audio is comfortable, yet is also warmer on the ears. The DAS audio enclosure has a strange side effect in some listening conditions. Even when turned off, the enclosure seems to amplify some ambient sound like fans or AC running in the background. At first I thought there was a white noise problem electronically, but it's just this inherent flaw in the way the headphone enclosure was built. Once I knew what it was, it stopped bothering me, and it doesn't interfere when you are playing games, the sound of the games overpowers it easily. You may only notice it in the right conditions, and when everything is silent. The foam for the head back padding is affixed with Velcro, so it is removable/replaceable. The foam that comes with it is the wrong material choice for a VR headset in my opinion. It is highly porous and cannot be cleaned. Luckily VR cover makes replacement foams that are covered in PU leather that wipe off easily. They are also filled with memory foam and increase the comfort by a large degree. I got the 10mm version and it's perfect for me. (The attached photo is with the stock foam) I used the 3d printed attachement kit "Ultimate FrankenQuest 2, Oculus Quest 2 Adapter for Vive Deluxe Audio Strap" here on Amazon, which worked perfectly and is very secure. When used with a Quest 2, you will still find the setup front heavy. I counterbalanced using some curved steel weights from StudioForm. Some people use batteries, or other things to weight the back. Just know that if you really want a high degree of comfort, you will need to add some weight to the back. Once you have it set up the way you like it, the spring loaded mechanism is excellent when taking it off and putting it on. No need to adjust the knob on the back each time, it just goes on and is right where you left it. Overall I'm very happy with the strap, despite some of the short comings. There's nothing better out there right now, so it's worth a bit of extra modding and accessories to make it all work the best it can. ... show more

  • Frankenquest 2
Using this for the Oculus Quest 2 with adapters. I've used the elite strap. Had 2 of them break on me so I've stopped using them. I've used a cheap chinese strap which wasn't as comfortable but at least it didn't break. Also out of all of them, it could open the widest to allow you to put it over your head easily. Good for people with bigger heads. The Deluxe Audio Strap has 3 main points of interest. Comfort - mainly the area that cups the back of your head It's decent. I would say the elite strap from oculus was a little more comfortable but only by a little bit. If you're coming from another strap, it's not going to blow your mind but it's adequate. Ease of putting it on - the springs on the arms that connect to the headset I wish you could extend the arms just a little more to make it easier to put on and take off. Like I said, the cheap chinese strap had the most headroom to extend the arms so you can easily place it over your head. This one, even at the longest the arms will extend, it's still rough getting it over my face. But unique to this strap, there are springs in the arm to allow a little bit of adjustment without extending the arms. It's good for comfort as it prevents you from over tightening the strap to the point of hurting your face. But the tension on the springs are a little higher than I would like. If they just made the arms extend an extra 2 inches, it would make all the difference. Audio - the included headphones attached to the strap Good audio from the included headphones. But they're not mindblowing. It's only slightly better than cheap plug in earphones. And you could make that work with some wire ties and cable management. The included audio is good to have but I don't think it should be the deciding factor on whether you get this or not. In the end, there are a lot of good things about this headset but not one of those things individually would make this worth $100. That said, when we average it out, it beats the other straps in overall performance and comfort and is going to be my main strap until something better comes along. ... show more

  • Very much worth it's original price.
I'm very satisfied with it. Headphones will take getting used to,however it's not an issue an much better than the straps that came with my vive from the factory.

  • More comfortable than stock, but earpieces could use improvement
This is definitely an improvement in terms of comfort over the old stock strap that comes with the headset. The only shortcoming needed is the earpieces, they rest on my head right at the top of the sprung area, meaning that I have to often push them back down, plus they're not as good as they could be in terms of sound quality. I would recommend this as it's more comfortable, but also dedicated separate headphones. ... show more

  • mod to Q2 and play on. It’s the best head strap.
I’ve been having neck issues and I usually use a halo strap with battery. It’s to heavy for my neck. So I asked my Facebook group what I should do and they said to get this and Frankenquest. So I bit the bullet and spent the money. Wow! Sturdy, easy to install and well made! This fits like a glove. You almost forget you have it on. No more fiddling with the headset and strap to get comfortable. Very easy to install ( you need to buy the attachment for Quest2.) I am happy with this purchase. Quality all around. I am also able to mod a battery to the back very easily. The earphones are very comfortable. ... show more
