bought this HP Victus mainly for gaming and work, and so far the experience has been excellent. The mica silver design looks elegant, sleek, and well finished nothing over the top like some other gaming laptops. In terms of performance, the Intel Core i5-12450H processor along with 8GB of RAM does a great job: programs load quickly and I can work with multiple tabs open without issues. For gaming, the NVIDIA GTX 1650 graphics card still delivers solid performance in popular titles like Fortnite, Valorant, and even some more demanding games on medium/high settings. The 512GB SSD is fast and provides plenty of space for several games and applications without running out of storage right away. The 15.6” Full HD screen has good colors and adequate brightness, perfect for both gaming and watching movies or shows. I also appreciate the cooling system: while it does get a little warm during long sessions, it’s not uncomfortable, and the fan noise is reasonable. I just got it today in the mail and I’ve barely used it but so far super good, I was just playing Roblox and the graphics were all the way up on this SCP Roleplay game which is very graphic and is realistic and it took a little longer to load but there was NO LAG!!! It’s also very easy to setup and the quality is very nice. I love the weight of it too! It’s very light and easy to take somewhere and fits in my backpack. I haven’t checked out the battery life yet but it does seem like it’s pretty good, the overall performance of this laptop is very impressive for the price, if your a first time gamer or just a casual gamer trying to not go over budget, GET THIS LAPTOP!!! ... show more

I like this laptop. I primarily purchased it to play games on and communicate with family while traveling, and it does all right. It plays my games, connects reliably to the Wifi, and I feel like I got what I paid for. But the battery is garbage. Do not expect to watch a 2 hour movie or play a game without it being plugged in. This unit is great. I don't have much to add to other reviews. But I can confirm that this model is easily upgradable to 64gig of memory. I used a gskill ripsaw kit at 1.2v. Its only seven small screws and a little bit of gentle manipulation to remove the back.

I let this thing update, and it installed a some kind of BIOS update as well. Now when I boot it is asking me for some bitlocker key THAT I WAS NEVER GIVEN. It says to go to aka.ms/recoverykey (or something), and when I log in it says I don't have any devices (big f'ing help MS). When I go to HP and enter the product number and model number HP says it is not under warrantee. This is a circule cluster-F of stupidity and bad support. I'm on the verge of returning this thing just to start over. ... show more
