  • This Laptop SHOULD Be a Superstar, But There is Just This One Little Thing...
...or two little things. The letters "HP" on it. HP buried their reputation so deep you have to dig it out of six feet of manure to find it-- lots of people hear "HP" and immediately think of their poor old pappy, who died tryin' to make a lousy HP computer play a lousy game for his grandkid. Sad. Most companies that have such a damaged brand name would just quit and rename themselves. It happens all the time. But HP's problem was credibility, and I guess that taking on a alias tends to make you look like you have something to hide (I'm looking at you, Comcast). So I suppose HP has taken the right path. Do or die. With products like this little laptop I think they may gain back their reputation, but they'll have to wait until all the old timers die off, I suppose. As for me, I needed a laptop for video editing and I didn't want to spend a fortune. This one was NOT recommended for video editing... because "HP" and all that. Also, it was some kind of "emasculated" GPU that has been strangled down to an intolerable 512 mb of VRAM. Well-- haven't you guys ever heard of eGPU's??? I mean, if you need more GPU grunt to run Adobe After Effects then you could hook up an eGPU and go crazy. The main thing is "bang per buck" and this laptop has a ton of bang. I intend to use Shotcut for editing and it doesn't rely so much on GPU, and this machine should be able to do everything I ask of it and more. I also do audio mixing and graphical work and all kinds of stuff that IS NOT 3D gaming. But I do some of that too. What is amazing is that some reviewers say this laptop is "only good for office work like writing letters and answering email." That's just flat-out wrong. One thing about being sleazy for a long time is that everybody feels like it's OK to slander you. Really A bad rep tends to lead to all sort so stuff. This little laptop (I wanted a simple and small machine with plenty of OOMPH and I got it) has tons of IO ports and gives me the option to hook up my mouse, mic, cameras (plural) and it has a slot to read SDHC cards from cameras, etc. If I'd bought one of the other "low cost" laptops I'd be scrambling to connect all my stuff. Not so on this laptop. I also DO NOT NEED OR WANT A TOUCHSCREEN. I am a touch typist and I like to keep my fingers where they belong. Not on my screen. Well, that's my review/rant. This thing is small but powerful, and doesn't deserve to be dumped on by old-school HP haters. Maybe HP was wrong. Very wrong. But this computer is right. ... show more

  • Will not hold a charge! They sent a new power cord but no luck on that!
Irritating that it has to stayed plugged in to use, but my daughter down loaded all her Sim games & did not want to send it back.

  • Good value for the performance
The device was shipping in reasonable packaging. Device was in very good condition with the exact specs as described. Will buy renewed again if I need a machine in the future.

  • Good value
I was worried about it being refurbished but everything works great. There was some minor scratches on bottom, and it came with an aftermarket power cord. Also, no manuals or papers..

  • Exterior peeling
The laptop is peeling…we bought it 6 months ago. It’s been kept indoors and hasn’t been moved around.

  • Fancy gear
Although the battery lasts maybe a couple of hours when hooked to a tablet, it works fantastic.
