  • HP calculators are awesome
I am a big fan and user of HP calculators, graduated in college using the HP48 and after 24 years my HP48 is resting in piece, time to buy a new one, this prime is spectacular quality, buttons are so far decent, fast, apps are good, people ask me why I still use a regular scientific calculator at the cell phone era, well this HP allows me to quickly turn it on , do the calc I need, work with units, solve matrixes, all the stuff I need as an engineer, no need to turn on my cell phone and I can focus on my stuff. I recommend and hope more people get to enjoy HP calc as I do. ... show more

  • Great calculator
This is probably one of the best calculators out there especially for the price. Does line graphing quadratic’s and 3d extremely fast. However the user interface is different than the typical TI calculators and does not have extensive user help. If you do mind a slight learning curve this calculator is amazing. ... show more

  • Too Much Dancing Bear Software
Have been using HP Calculators since they were invented. Only use RPN OS. It offends me when I get a calculator with an OS other than RPN. This latest gadget is loaded with stuff I have no interested in using. If I wanted to plot a graph, make a spread sheet, etc. I'd use a desktop or laptop pc. A calculator is for quick calculations of simple things. Yes the display is cute. Yes charging through USB is nice. But all I want is a simple calculator that can be programmed with simple equations using RPN. Give Me that Old Time Calculator. It's good enough for me. ... show more

  • This is no a 15C or 41CV wow!I
I love RPN calculators. That said, the text format input (not CAS) is probably better than RPN. I'm also a TeX user (MathType), and LabView, so the home interface is hauntingly familiar. There's a bit of a nasty learning curve getting started though - backing out of blind alleys without using reset. You really need to read about 50 pages of the (600+page) user manual and pray. Who would think that unplugging and re-inserting the USB cable would fix a frozen screen? I am addicted good graphics color displays though, so I'll figure this thing out one way or another. I need to remember to forget - this thing doesn't act like a 15C or 41CV so I shouldn't expect that. Truly a horse of a different color (think cephalopod, not the same kind of beast at all). (I'm a retired Electrical Engineer and Inventor). (By the way, you will need a spudger, watchmaker pry knife or car interior (plastic) pry tool to get the slip case off the first time.) ... show more

  • Bad battery in the unit I recieved
The calculator was brand new, but the battery life was not optimal. Only lasts about 4 hours of basic arithmetic use, whereas it is rated for 25 hours of intensive use. Not good if you're stressing about battery life during a college exam. Getting a replacement battery to see if the issue is fixed. Not likely this will happen to you, but it occurred to me and this is a quality control issue. ... show more
