I really like the key layout and matrices options for mathematical computations. The big touch screen makes details very clear. A skim through a manual might be nice, but Google ai makes figuring out how to enter different equation types very simple at the least.

Yes, this is the G2, for anyone unsure. You can tell by the little G2 under the HP symbol on the back (see image, taken just now), though it's not mentioned anywhere in the ad copy. I'm starting my math journey as an adult, so I wanted a calculator that will last from basic algebra to advanced physics, but also useful for personal needs, like finance calculations. This thing is great. Zippered soft case is a nice touch, but not mandatory to use. Screen looks nice. Just be warned, there are TWO manuals for this totalling something like 1200 pages. They're pretty similar - the 500-page one seems to be an older one and is not a searchable PDF, but it's a little friendlier on the eyes, like it used to be the printed manual. The newer one is a more modern PDF that's searchable and also has a clickable table of contents. Tons of video tutorials, etc. You'll never be lost with this thing with the amount of info available. ... show more

worst calculator ever , I loved my HP48-GX , I was expecting an updated version but was deeply disappointed, keyboard feels cheap, battery life is abysmal, some functions are missing and after a very light use it just quit on me, it wont turn off and now keys do things they're not supposed to do, a complete disappointment. HP raised the bar with the old calculators and now has dropped to the lowest, get a TI calculator better. ... show more
