Similar experience as someone else here - the battery swelled at about 14 months (enough to warp the metal bottom of the case), which means bad LION battery (thus, the system just shuts down unexpectedly). Started out with great battery life, then declined. HP did not have a replacement battery (they're not hard to replace). So, I found a third party battery. Guess what? The system then complained at boot that it was not a "genuine HP battery." No duh. Even that battery thought ended up with not great run time (even after calibration - which is another story). You guys don't have one. Customer support was zero help. The screen is awesome, the keyboard is great - but you shouldn't have to keep a $2K laptop plugged in almost all the time in order to keep it from unexpectedly dumping your work. I love HP, but I think I'm done. ... show more

I purchased this laptop from Best Buy, this thing will only last a year or two max. They put too much into one laptop, the fans will run their lives away. If you want your legs to burn from the overclocked fans and the laptop to die in a middle of an exam this is the right laptop for you! Thank the lord my warranty expired a month before it died so now it’s just junk! They give you such a small warranty cause they know they can’t last that long! Don’t buy! ... show more

    • I Won't Buy Another HP Laptop Ever Again!
I bought this product with 8 GB of ram a couple of years ago, 521 GB SSD, no way did I get 10 hours of battery life to start with, only three. And after two years, the space bar malfunctioned and I was told the entire keyboard had to be replaced, and now the internal battery is starting to dwindle. I used to look up to HP but even the HP printer I bought is problematic. I'm switching to another brand. I will say, though, that when I called HP Support they were always helpful and did the best they could to satisfy me. But, no dice! Ironically though, my spacebar malfunctioned one day after my warranty expired and I had paid for extra warranty, too. Such is the nature of the beast! ... show more

I bought this HP laptop after doing some extensive research to see if it was what I was looking for and to make sure those $2,000 bucks were going to be worth it. I WAS WRONG!!! Long story short, after only 14 months the laptop suddenly shut down without being connected to electricity. The bottom of the laptop got extremely hot and never turned on again. (Basically, the motherboard is CRAP) The warranty was for approximately 13 months. And I was able to use my laptop for only 14 months. HP is NOT assuming the responsibility of this matter since 2017!!!! Even though many clients have asked and demanded a recall. And not only that, HP CHARGES you a fee to be able to talk to a non-virtual agent. WHAT!!!??? REALLY!!!???. I just spent $2,000 bucks on a laptop that didn't even last a year and a half and you can't even give me proper customer service??? As I said, don't buy it for your own sake. ... show more
