  • Great machine, great price. Needs RAM.
I'm not sure who is writing these reviews, but as a technical person who has built dozens of computers, used computers for over 40 years, and loves gaming, this is a great starter machine. I own two now, have had them over a month with hardcore use and have had ZERO issues. I don't trust these reviews at all! As a pre-built machine I would almost give it 5 stars, except for one negative. You MUST put in another 8GB of RAM. There are technical reasons beyond just more memory for doing this, but I'll save that for another day. HP missed the boat on the memory issue, but once bumped, it runs perfectly. Takes every game I throw at it, as well as, audio production software, steaming tools, etc. Your milage may vary, but I highly doubt so many people are having the same "issue" at the same time. Seems extremely suspicious. Buy with a stick of ram and enjoy a great deal on a starter gaming system. Or don't. I plan on buying another one on payday so the whole family can game together and I'd like there to be some in stock. :) ... show more

  • Became a very expensive paperweight a few days after buying.
We bought this to be a gaming computer, however within a few days after purchase it stopped opening programs, we weren't able to open the start menu, and programs wouldn't close. There would be a few minutes after startup when it works normally, then the problems would arise again. Not even Task Manager would start, whether it was through ctrl+alt+delete, ctrl+shift+esc, right click taskbar, windows+R, none worked, the list of running programs became static and unchanging, destroying all my ambitions in its We tried a couple of things with the few minutes of startup time we had: - Restarting - Updating drivers - Running a Virus scan - Uninstalling software that might be causing it - Booting into safe mode to try all of the above again - Running sfc /scannow through command prompt in safe mode - Doing a reinstall of windows (made the problem go away for two days before it returned) Nothing we did was a long term solution, so we're resetting it to factory defaults and returning the computer. Considering the other reviews that have gone up since we bought it, it looks like this issue wasn't isolated to us, but actually the entire batch that Amazon is selling. Don't buy this device. ... show more

  • Doesn’t work
Worked really nice for the first day I had it but would not work after about 10 hours of use. Traded it in for another one but had the same issue. The pc itself is good but for some reason had technical issues

  • Good computer
My son loves it! It plays all the games he wants to play so far. We did install a little more ram.

  • Nice 1080p mod range
Got this for my 13 year old so he can play a few games and do some animating. Works well for the purposes. It’s no huge gaming rig, but it doesn’t claim to be cutting edge either. Great price to value ratio

  • So Disappointed
We wanted these computers to work (we bought 2 for our kids), but they started lagging and malfunctioning within 6 hours of getting them up and running. Yes, we updated all the software. We didn't load them up with a bunch of stuff: Only Minecraft was downloaded. The kids were starting off just playing Roblox and Minecraft, and logging in with friends on Discord and Xbox Live. We deleted bloatware. We installed apps for Netflix, Hulu, and Spotify from the Microsoft Store. The kids watched videos on YouTube. That. Is. It. And with such a low load like that, there's lagging and my one son's PC freezes and is unresponsive when just trying to watch YouTube. We're going to have to look at a different manufacturer I think. We have had HP regular (non-gaming) laptops in the past and have an HP wireless printer we're happy with. But these? No way. There are no reviews here, but the same model at B3st Buy's website had about a dozen reviews, with all but 1 being very favorable. Well, I bought them in new condition from Amazon, so I'll leave my review here. We're very disappointed. Buyer beware. ... show more

  • Excited to buy but issues with graphics driver
Was really excited to buy this PC because it looked like a really good deal. Several other models exist, should have went with those in hindsight! There is an integrated graphics card as well as the Radeon RX 5500 on the system. The CPU runs well enough (after having had it for 3 days as of this review) but I think there must have been a misconfiguration at the factory or something. I try to play games like Path of Exile as well as LoL, but the computer consistently chooses the integrated graphics card instead of the dedicated GPU. It's really annoying to have to basically immediately troubleshoot this straight out of the box (e.g. would have been more acceptable if this was an issue that came with a major update, etc. etc. down the line), and has really hampered any favorable review I can give this PC so far. Will be asking for assistance and if not, then a refund tl;dr potentially a user-specific issue/one that can be troubleshooted happened to me straight out of the box that is annoying because I expect the PC to function perfectly at least from the go ... show more

  • The thing just doesn't work
Had the computer for about two weeks. Every time the system would update, it would completely brick. Was able to boot Windows but I couldn't click or key command a thing. Had to reset it back to factory settings to get it to do anything. HP customer service was non-existent so I just sent it back. Dunno what's up with this run of computers since the Intel version has like 900 positive reviews, Don't waste your time with this one. Amazon returns were super easy, though. Cheers to that I guess? ... show more
