  • Good price and quality
Love it! Works great for what I need. Touch screen is awesome as well

  • Great entry level laptop
Solid entry-level laptop that gets the job done. The 2K touchscreen is a great addition and works really well — I wasn't expecting that at this price. Performance is good for everyday tasks like browsing, streaming, and basic productivity work. Nothing crazy, but it handles what you throw at it without any issues. The 16-inch screen is a nice size too, gives you plenty of room to work with. My only gripe is that the build quality feels a little cheap and plastic-y, but honestly that's pretty par for the course at this price point. You're not buying a MacBook here, and for what it is, it delivers solid value. Would recommend for anyone looking for a reliable everyday laptop without breaking the bank. ... show more

  • Exceeded our expectations in every way- easy and fun to use with excellent performance
I was incredibly grateful for the opportunity to try this HP OmniBook laptop. While I have a desktop computer at home, it isn’t a PC, and there have been times when my 13-year-old son has needed access to programs that are more compatible with the systems he uses at school. I’ve also been wanting something portable that could easily move from room to room and travel when needed. Needless to say, I was very excited when this laptop became available. The laptop arrived quickly, and both my son and I were eager to get it set up. Getting started was surprisingly simple. My son handled most of the initial setup himself and had everything running in very little time. The process was straightforward, and we didn’t encounter any issues connecting accounts or getting the laptop ready to use. One of the first things I noticed was the large 16-inch touchscreen display. I appreciate the extra screen space, especially since my eyesight isn’t what it used to be. The display is bright, sharp, and vibrant, making everything from web browsing to streaming videos look excellent. The touchscreen is responsive and convenient, allowing you to switch easily between using the keyboard and interacting directly with the screen. Performance has also been impressive. The laptop feels quick and responsive during everyday use, and battery life has been excellent. Applications open quickly, and everything we’ve asked it to do has been handled without issue. To be completely honest, my son has probably spent more time using this laptop than I have. While he has used it for schoolwork, I’ve also seen him use it frequently for gaming. He was able to connect accounts from other devices and access his games without difficulty. From what I’ve observed, everything runs smoothly, and he has been extremely happy with its performance. He also regularly uses wireless headphones with it and has had no issues connecting accessories. This laptop has quickly become an important part of our household. It fills a need that we had been trying to address for quite some time by providing a device that works well for school, entertainment, and everyday tasks. It’s user-friendly enough for someone who isn’t particularly tech-savvy while still offering the performance and features that more experienced users will appreciate. For our family’s needs, this laptop has been an excellent fit. The combination of performance, portability, touchscreen functionality, display quality, and battery life makes it an impressive value. Whether it’s being used for schoolwork, browsing, streaming, or gaming, it has consistently performed well and exceeded our expectations. ... show more

  • Does its job
I think one of the biggest reasons people are dissatisfied with computers they buy is because they don't have a clear idea of what they're buying it for. A gaming laptop is a different device than one used to make and give presentations. This is a productivity workhorse. You won't be using it to plug in a VR headset or stream Fortnite. It charges quickly, runs for a long time on battery, and is powerful enough to browse the internet and use Word. In other words, this is the laptop you give your kids to do their homework. For that purpose, it's fantastic. If you're expecting something significantly different, you'll probably be upset. It's made with post consumer recycled materials, which some people appreciate. I'd personally prefer a slightly more sturdy feeling device. It's tough enough but does feel plastic-y and is fairly lightweight. The screen is surprisingly bright and has 2K resolution. The 16" screen is larger than most around this price point. The laptop will work fine for streaming a movie, throwing together a PowerPoint, and you'll probably have enough battery left to present it too. 8 gigs of memory is fairly barebones these days, but it does handle Windows 11. The 256GB hard drive is enough for basic apps, but not a big media library or games. The Ryzen 3 CPU is one of the slower chips on the market and the GPU is in the same space. That's how you get good battery life though - a modest CPU/GPU. Game elsewhere, get your work done here. ... show more

  • Good Daily Use Laptop and Works Well With Linux
Overall, this is a solid laptop for basic daily use. It is fairly large, has good performance for normal workloads, and the specs feel appropriate for web browsing, office work, media use, and general computing. The USB-C charging support is a big plus, since it makes charging more flexible and reduces the need for proprietary chargers. The laptop itself feels nice to the touch but also a little flimsy. The keyboard works fine, although it does not have the same solid feel as something like a MacBook. One small annoyance is the processor branding stickers on the palm rest. I know manufacturers all do this, but they still feel unnecessary and distracting. My biggest complaint is the overall keyboard layout. Like many larger Windows laptops, the keyboard and trackpad are shifted to the left because of the built in number pad. Personally, I think this is a bad design choice for laptops. Humans are symmetric, and your hands spend almost all their time on the keyboard and trackpad, so shifting both to make room for a number pad makes the whole machine feel slightly off balance. Some people may prefer it, especially if they use the number pad heavily, but I would rather have a centered keyboard and use an external number pad if needed. One thing I specifically wanted to know was whether it would run Linux well. The answer is yes, though the installation process was not entirely smooth. I use Ubuntu. To boot from the installer USB, I first had to disable Secure Boot in the BIOS by pressing ESC repeatedly during startup and going through the menus. After that, the Ubuntu live USB booted fine into graphical mode. The issue came during installation when the graphical installer could not properly access the storage devices. The workaround that succeeded for me was installing Ubuntu Server 26.04 first, then installing the desktop afterward with: sudo apt update sudo apt install ubuntu-desktop sudo systemctl set-default graphical.target sudo reboot Once that was done, the system worked surprisingly well as a Linux laptop. WiFi and even the webcam worked immediately without extra drivers. I have not tested everything yet, such as Bluetooth, but overall I was impressed by the level of Linux compatibility once installed. Overall, this is a good laptop with decent performance, good Linux support, and a few ergonomic compromises that may or may not matter depending on your preferences. ... show more

  • Excellent Laptop
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this HP OmniBook, but after spending time with it, I can confidently say it punched well above its price point. The 2K screen is genuinely stunning. Colors are vivid, brightness is impressive, and whether I’m watching videos, browsing, or working on documents, everything looks crisp and clear. For a 16-inch laptop, the visual experience is a real highlight. The touchscreen is where this thing really shines. I’ve used laptops with “touchscreens” that felt like they were just tolerating my finger taps. This one is responsive, quick, accurate, and smooth. It makes navigating Windows 11 feel intuitive in a way I didn’t expect. Swiping, scrolling, tapping it all just works. Speaking of navigation, this laptop is refreshingly easy to get around. Windows 11 Home runs clean right out of the box, and the overall experience feels polished and well thought out. Setup was a breeze and I was up and running in no time. The 16-inch screen real estate gives you plenty of room to multitask, and the sleek Mica Silver design looks professional without being flashy. It’s lightweight enough to carry around without complaint. Battery life is another area where this laptop impressed me. I’m getting through a full day of use on a single charge even with browsing, It’s the kind of battery performance that makes this a genuinely portable machine, not just a laptop that looks portable. If you’re looking for a large-screen laptop with a gorgeous display, a reliable touchscreen, and an experience that just feels right from day one — this HP OmniBook 3 deserves a serious look. Highly recommend! ... show more
