  • WAY OVERPRICED!
I have owned this laptop for a decade. It is not worth $1800 dollars today. More like $450. The storage is tiny. The graphics card is incapable of running modern games, such as Cyberpunk 2077 after the 2019-2020 updates, and it performs poorly for large music projects. It gets very hot under load and will burn not only your lap, but your fingers. Plus, it has a poor battery life. I suggest the seller adjust the price accordingly. This is much better than your average notebook by far, but it has not kept up with the times! It was a mid-tier gaming laptop in 2016 and a budget gaming laptop today. Why then is the price listed here $800 in excess of models on HP's own site, which exceed the specifications of this computer by leaps and bounds?! ... show more

  • Worth the price
I recieved this laptop today and I'm in love with it so far, there are 2 things that are different than was described, the 1st thing isnt a big issue is that the ssd that is in my unit is a 256gb ssd instead of a 128gb drive and I'm not complaining abput that, the 2nd thing is the screen that I recieved in my unit is a 120hz g sync panel instead of the 144hz g sync panel in the description, it's not a worry but sort of a little let down but overall a very nice laptop and the speakers are crystal clear and loud, the keyboard is gonna take time to getting used to and it does have 4 zone lighting so your not stuck with red, 3 month update, the unit that i had received has unfortunately bit the dust and died at the start of the year, i'm dropping this to 2 stars because i expected better from HP in the long run, i'll be looking somewhere else for a different laptop and i will not be going with HP anymore ... show more

  • Big Laptop - Big Disappointment
Pros: -Not DoA. -AC adapter is not HUGE like other laptops. -Good aesthetics. -Motherboard orientation makes it easier for upgrades. -Bottom cover is easy to remove, no prying tools needed. Cons: -False advertisement! It's NOT a 144hz ips screen. It's ONLY 120hz -NOT a true IPS panel. Upon research, I found out it's a TFT-LCD panel. Make / Model: Innolux / N173HCE-G32. Which is why the quality of IPS simly isn't there and there's white light bleeding. -Unnecessarily bulky. -Poor design. Could have better ventilation. -Runs HOT. Was averaging 72C @ idle. -BIOS is extremely basic. Can only change boot options. -CPU refuses to run above 3.9 GHz, though is a 4.1 GHz CPU. -1070 GPU fails to run games smoothly even with G-sync. -RGB is not bright. -Keyboard does not have mechanical keys. -HP Website is terrible. Convoluted page layout. -HP auto-detect software has annoying pop-up warning about Win 7 though Win 10 is installed. -HP omen software does not install when downloaded from their website. -Laptop has a tight fit in a 17 inch laptop back pack due to bulkiness. ... show more

  • Review change due to improvement.
I ordered this laptop on October 29, 2019. In the first weeks it presented several problems and I had to give it a very bad review. But after a week, and after several updates, now at the time I am writing this new review, today April 28, 2024 (5 years of use) I can say that I have not had any more problems, it is still fast , and so far it is the best laptop I have ever had. ... show more
