This was a fantastic purchase. I am a IT guy and simply needed something that had a DVD, lots of usb ports, a fast hard drive (aka:SSD), decent amount of RAM and Windows 10 Pro. This is perfect! I was very surprised on how fast this performs. I forgot how much faster desktop and tower PC's are compared to laptops which is what this replaced. It reminded me why I always had a permanent desktop computer for my home and this one fit the bill! I was going to get a new desktop for around $900 to $1200 but wanted to see if a refurbished business class desktop could accomplish my needs and it actually exceeded. The unit was very clean, very few scratches, but more importantly runs amazing. It boots up in seconds and the performance exceeded what I needed. I am not a gamer and this unit is not designed as such so I cannot comment on the video card for such use, but for streaming, office apps etc it exceeds the needs. I was not worried about the apearance as I know it was from an office environment and might have been dinged up. The appearance has nothing to do with how well the unit performs, but the unit was exceedingly clean and very few scratches. It's how it works is what is important and it was money well spent. An amazingly smart purchase! I've had it a few weeks and I highly recommend it. This will open you up to a whole new world of thinking and options when it comes to funding your technical life. Today's economy is not producing a supporting a strong or growing middle class, and most poorly constructed new products out on the market reflect that reality. Short lifespans are built into products, and buyers without very much money are forced back into the stores in 3 years to buy another device because that's how companies can get people without disposable income to keep shopping. Even Apple products are like this now--I have a friend who had to replace the motherboard on her Macbook Pro after it was less than a year old. Although you will get less of out the new products you find on the market today than you were able to find when a stable middle class existed, you will still pay $1000 for that phone, laptop or other device. I am doing whatever I can to get out of this in all areas of my life. In walks this beautiful purchase! When my $900 Samsung touchscreen/8GB RAM/SSD harddrive laptop began experiencing problems after only 3 years, I was forced begin looking for something new. I decided to rethink my technical habits and life to avoid paying that price again. I had a pretty nice $100 22" Acer monitor already, and decided I could hook up a nice used desktop up to it if I could find one. I did a lot of research here on Amazon, and was thrilled at the prices of refurbished desktops. You can get a machine with amazing specs at an amazing price if you go this route. I decided on this one due to the awesome specs and great reviews on customer service from the seller. I've had it for 3 weeks and I am SO happy with it. Thanks so much to this seller!! Things I love: -Delivery was fast and came before its ETA. Packaging was excellent. -My maybe 4 year old $100 Acer monitor with a shiny screen makes everything look amazing (see pic). I was nervous about this aspect of the computer--would the text be grainy, or sharp and smooth? But the text looks very good and sharp and so do videos. I'm very picky about this and I'm very happy on this front. MUCH better than many new, expensive laptops on the market. -It's basically silent. -It works at lightning speed and can handle basically anything internet-related you are doing. Tons of tabs and windows can be open while videos/music play effortlessly. MS Word docs can be open too during all that. The world is yours if all you do is internet stuff and basic computer stuff like MS Office work. -I host Zoom video calls with many callers and have Chrome tabs/windows open while doing them. This handles it all with no problem. No more laptop having a meltdown and getting up to 500 degrees or something trying to handle the calls. -I love that I can upgrade the RAM later on if needed. -Love how many USB ports I now have. -I put it on this nice rollaway cart which I purchased used. I love it. I have an amazing workspace with a reliable, fast computer that was affordable. 2/2/21 Update: Had to replace the Display Port to HDMI adapter that came with this. No big deal. But if all of a sudden your monitor doesn't bring up anything after a short time of ownership (mine bit the dust after 8 months), try replacing that cheapy HDMI adapter first. I got a $25 one at BestBuy and it worked. Also, I bought a cheap $10 external DVD drive about 6 months into ownership of this and after plugging it into the computer once, all but 1 of my USB ports stopped working. It sucked, but I used that last working port to plug in 7 USB port hub and I'm back in business. I'm not sure what happened, it was probably something with that cheap device. But I would suggest just being careful with this computer. Overall I still love this computer after 8 months of ownership. If I can get 2 years of use out of this computer I will have beat the system. :) ... show more

Item was purchased as refurbished, arrived quickly and in good condition. I had no issues that required Tech support. The item features a clean install of Windows, and has met or exceeded expectations in every way. Windows runs smoothly on this PC, the only real issues are the integrated graphics, and the hard drive capacity, which work perfectly well, but for some applications can be a downside. This is a great PC for an excellent price, and is a perfect fit for mixed use of entertainment and work. You may want a better computer if your plan is gaming, while Minecraft runs smoothly on this, higher end games, where a high video card is recommended, would clearly have issues. Intel graphics settings can easily fix the issue of the desktop running past the edge of the display, which may be the first thing to correct if you use a TV as a monitor. ... show more

    • Small, Quick, and as Advertized... Well mostly.
This thing is as advertised. Mostly. There is no HDMI port on the machine BUT they do provide a dongle that allows you to connect a DP cable to an HDMI slot on a monitor. They also provide a USB wireless adaptor. Nothing amazing but will work in a pinch. The keyboard and mouse are let's say functional. Not hard to find something better on the cheap but again they work. I didn't buy this for the keyboard and mouse that come with it. This thing turns on quickly. Opens up a browser really quick and is very responsive. Comes with a lot of RAM which is a big plus. Processor is good enough. I got this for my wife to use for Podcasts and audio editing. It runs quickly and smoothly. This is not a gaming PC so don't expect it to play games well or anything that is GPU intensive. This makes a great family computer that can do basic tasks really well and efficiently. Good for kids who need to do homework or online schooling as well. Be sure to run all the windows updates prior to using. (During this time the computer will seem slow as downloading and installing a ton of updates takes up most of the system resources.) You shouldn't really do much anyway till it is up to date anyway. It does have a small built in speaker and microphone. Though this would not be what I would recommend to use for audio. But does work in a pinch. No bloatware. Just a simple windows machine that has a SSD and a good amount of RAM. At this price you really couldn't ask for a better little family PC. ... show more

    • Great refurb deal for a cheap but surpisingly peppy PC
For less than $250 including tax, this refurbished EliteDesk 800 SFF was a steal, particularly with the Win10 Pro, 16GB RAM and 240GB SSD. Performance was more than adequate for my kids' homework and Minecrafting, though this is not a gaming PC by any stretch. In the "small form factor" it is actually laptop parts (ie i5-4570S, not i5-4570) with a 135W power brick, and has limited upgrade capability. At this price who cares. It by far outperforms brand new PCs in the value price range that cost hundreds more. Your quality might vary by seller--different sellers come up for the same listing sometimes. My first one came from Refurbees, and was excellent so I ordered a second from the Refurbees storefront page to make sure I got another good one. As others have noted, this did not come with DisplayPort to HDMI converters out of the box, but I had several anyways. The included Wifi dongle was adequate for my needs. Fan noise on the second PC was slightly higher than the first, for no obvious reason, but still quiet enough for me. Both were in grade A condition. Works for what I need it to do. However, no HDMI, and the USB WiFi dongle on it is useless (which I guess is expected for a USB dongle the size of my thumbnail, and there was no picture of what they were sending.) The HDMI is the bigger problem. Another thing to note, the one I received has a single DVI connector along with a VGA (sorry, I didn't look to see exactly what version) instead of the 2 display port connectors others have reported getting. Is clean and does run fine with no issues. [UPDATE 4/26/2021] Found the next annoying thing about this. According to the specs out there for the thing from HP, there are supposed to be 4 memory slots. When looking in the BIOS, it also looks like there would be 4, with slots 1 and 3 in use. Opening the case, I found that slots 2 and 4 are not there. The traces are on the board, but the actual slots are not. Needed to up the memory from the 16GB it ships with, so this is kind of an issue. [UPDATE 4/29/2021] Got 2x16GB DIMMs and found it won't recognize them, just gives the 5 beep POST error. With 2 slots missing and not being able to go over 16GB, have to revise my rating down. It has the power for what I need it to do, but a 16GB limitation on memory is a pretty big problem. ... show more

I was not shipped the computer I paid for. The profile page title and packing slip claim I was shipped a Quad-Core i5-4570 3.2GHz processor, but my About page says I have a Quad-Core i5-4590T 2.0 GHz processor. This is a minor [almost indetectable] difference, but a real one. The profile also claimed to have 1 HDMI port -- it doesn't have any, but does have 2 DPP video ports and a 15-pin VGA port. It says it comes with 2 USB ports; it actually comes with 6 USB ports in the back, and 4 in the front. It has a basic built-in speaker. The profile made it clear that it uses integrated graphics; no dedicated graphics card. It is a "small form factor" -- it is about the same size as a regular form factor, just a bit narrower. But upgrade cards must conform to this. The WiFi/Bluetooth USB plug-in works fine; I have WiFi and Bluetooth access. The computer also comes with a mouse, keyboard, but no instructions. It comes with Windows 10 pre-installed but no other software, and no backup disks. I'm not sure what will happen if I need to re-install the operating system. I don't believe I will be able to. At this price point I am not surprised by the lack of backup software and instructions -- it was implied by the price point. I emailed Support twice. Once about what graphics upgrade card requirements it has. And then about the discrepancies between what I'd ordered and what was sent. Each time I received prompt and satisfactory replies. This is very reassuring since it comes with 1 year support. It is common to buy a computer only to discover the claimed support isn't there. To me, support is important even if only through email. We negotiated an agreement that left me satisfied. Aside from the processor speed, I feel this was a great value, I'm glad I made the purchase, and I would buy from them again. BUT, care must be taken to compare what you receive against what you order. I suggest you not install any software until this comparison is done and you find it acceptable. The Seller should clearly state that the computer a buyer receives may differ in minor ways from what is ordered, based on stock availability. This is acceptable since the purchase can be returned if I don't like those differences. This computer/seller is best targeted for people who are computer-savvy, have minor support needs, and want a basic computer at a low price. ... show more

It's a great refurbished computer. The SSD upgrade, plentiful RAM, and adequate CPU makes this a great value for the price. This is basically the price youd be paying for a secondhand computer anyways, but with the 30 day return window and customer service. Easy to set up and perfect for regular day-to-day use. Silent.
