Style: i5-16GB-256GB
This was either refurbished or used, but it looks brand new.No scratches, no signs of apparent use and I'm very pleased with it.It started up as if it was a new computer, so far running very good, like new and so much faster than my old H.P, .....And Price so much better than if I had bought new

  • Steal for the price
Style: i5-16GB-256GB
I rarely go back to orders that are a year old to leave a review, but this is a great laptop at this price point. Having had it for a year, here's my impressions. If you're expecting fingerprint sensor and touchscreen then you will be let down. However, it gets things done. I would say go ahead and do a factory reset and install the hp drivers bios update etc that others have mentioned. Not sure if it helped speed it up in my case, but it's always a good idea to be up to date. If you want to get real performance out of it, install Linux along side of it. It can pretty much do anything a windows or a Mac can do. Actually, it can do more than both of those! I've installed Manjaro Linux and it does everything I need it to do. I can code for my web development, emulate consoles up to gamecube and Wii, and play some older PC games like doom 3 and BioShock. If you're looking for a laptop for video editing or processing large files, compressed and decompressing, who's ain't it. But, if you're looking for a laptop that you won't scream at and call a piece of crap, this is it! ... show more

  • Great for every day basic tasks
Style: i5-16GB-256GB
Fast enough to do basic tasks, like documents and browsing the web. I mainly use it to do some karaoke nights. It would be nice if it had a vga port, because some equipment I use have vga, but it has hdmi and I use a converter and it works great. One time my pc crashed and I had to edit a 20 min video on it and it did it without any problems. Overall a good laptop voor daily tasks. I would buy this again ... show more

  • Laptop came with bad ssd.
Style: i5-16GB-256GB
First thing I did when I received this laptop was boot it up, it booted up with an error "3FO boot device not found". After following an hp support manual I learned that this was an ssd issue, I decided to do a hard drive test and the ssd didn't show up. So next step was to pop the bottom open and just try to reseat (reseat is to basically just remove the ssd and reninstall it). To no avail it still booted up the error. Finally I went into the BIOS to see if I could change some settings, thought maybe it was a TPM issue or something but everything I tried was no good. Then after all that I went to best buy and bought a new ssd, worked perfectly good right after I installed the ssd. If you have no knowledge of computers or anything do not chance it. Buy a brand new Laptop. Don't do refurbished. ... show more

  • Wow. Just wow.
Style: i5-16GB-256GB
See update at end... Buying a refurbished PC (desktop or laptop) can be dicey. You never know if you're going to get a hidden gem or an incompetently rebuilt piece of garbage. I have bought about a dozen of them, and promptly returned just more than half. This laptop is by far the most completely refurbed PC I have purchased. It looks new--the screen, the body, even the touchpad (which almost always shows wear) look untouched. It is definitely the nicest laptop I've had. The specs are exactly as listed, down to DDR4 memory and a battery that shows only 24 previous discharge/recharge cycles, far better than most refurbs. A word of advice for purchasers trying to figure out if a purchased refurb will work for them: -Don't expect anything to work well right out of the box. You will have to spend some time getting it in running order. Think of your time spent as balancing the $ you saved buying refurbished! (No, this isn't because the refurbisher didn't do their job. Once they get everything working, they will only do a clean install of Windows. The rest is up to you, just like it would be with a new computer.) -The first thing any Windows machine when you finish the guided set up (IF you connected to a wifi or wired network) is start installing Windows updates. (You can check progress by selecting "Check for updates" from the start menu.) Until all updates are finished, it will be slow. It might even restart seemingly at random. Once you think all updates are installed, reboot and check for updates until it shows "You're up to date". This can take quite some time with a slow network connection, so be sure you're using fast wifi or even plug in an ethernet cable until ALL updates are done. -While updates are installing, check the specs to make sure they are what you bought. Don't assume. The built-in Windows System Information app is a good place to start. There are lots of free apps for reporting on the HDD, memory, and battery. Check Google. If ANYTHING seems off, ask the seller about it. If you don't like the answer, return it! -Next go to the manufacturer's support website and install all available driver updates (including BIOS!). I can't oversell the importance here. Many manufacturers have an app you can download to streamline this process (for HP it is HP Support Assistant). NOTE: If something stops working during this step (function keys or bluetooth are the most likely things to stop working), Google away until you find a solution. Someone has run into the same problem before, and the solution is probably there to be found. -After these steps, you should have a fully functional computer. Test it out and see if it actually meets your needs. If not, contact the seller. If you aren't happy with the response, return it! One word of warning: the touchpad is textured. I can see this bothering some people, but I kind of like it. It makes it really easy to move the mouse precisely vertically, in line with the lines of the texture. I hope this helps someone who is on the edge about whether to buy this or not. Thank you, seller! ----------- UPDATE: After using this laptop for a couple of weeks, I thought I should add an update. I do wish the display was a bit better. The colors wash out easily, especially at lower levels. It's also worth noting that the processor on this model is not listed as compatible for the Windows 11 upgrade. Not a big deal to me, but worth noting. ... show more

  • Nice laptop
Style: i5-16GB-256GB
Suits my needs just fine. Using it for music production purposes. Very quick with 16gb memory and a SSD drive. Windows 10 I’d fine for me, doesn’t seem to want to upgrade to 11, but I have no issues with that. Nice clean display. No issues at all.
