The claim is that the item is "refurbished" to Amazons standards. Either Amazons standards are so low that sellers can just ship out crap that isn't refurbished, or the seller never refurbished the item. The cartridges that came with the printer show they are full. However, the black (a third party manufacturer, not oem HP) is more like a ghosted print with no readable print. Just a very faint image and mostly blank spaces where letters should be. The color cartridge was still sealed in the package and appeared to be new. Nothing with color ever prints. NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING EVER EVER EVER prints color. NOTHING!!!!!!! Not being a repair technician even I know that the print head is bad. If I know this then how is it that the repair techs don't?. Send me an application to apply for a job. At least being a lay person would explain why the seller sends out crap. CRAP,CRAP,CRAP AND MORE CRAP, AD INDINITUM. I don't even speak or read latin and even I know what that phase means. Crap, crap, crap. I was hoping that as advertised that the printer would at least work, but no. "HP Crap as usual". I needed something small form factor and the HP was all there was. What a waist of money. CRAP, CRAP, CRAP, CRAP, CRAP, CRAP.................. No stars for the seller, none!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazon won't let me post this review without at least one star. I choose one star under protest.

When something is labeled as "refurbished", I am always wary, but I needed a printer for a Christmas project and I needed one fast. I don't typically use a printer for everyday use, so price point was also a heavily considered factor: I wanted something affordable and practical. The printer works perfectly for printing (haven't tried using it any other way). It was a little tricky to set up but the manual was very helpful. Couldn't figure out the wireless mode, but it worked fine with the provided USB. It does its job and printed beautifully on cardstock for paper crafts. It's nice and compact and easy to store away when not in use. The printer itself is lightweight and doesn't have too many components, so it could also be brought along somewhere if needed without too much hassle. Definitely recommend for someone who doesn't need a printer too often, but would like to have one at home for those unexpected moments. Probably too small and not enough ink for someone who heavily uses a printer (ie - office jobs, work from home, etc.)

So I am not a computer wizard but I am also not a boomer. That being said things I would never have thought of made it impossible for the printer to work. I needed this to print off my work computer and the windows version was not supported by this printer. So while I just wanted to plug in the printer to my computer and print, that couldn’t happen (and since it’s a work computer I have to live with what version I have). I was able to connect my phone and print from there no problem though. Came out great, fast. Super easy. I even printed a pic from my phone and it came out awesome. I’m bummed bc it was the perfect printer for what I needed. The scan feature was easy to use too. Perfect size and not a scratch on it. Just double check your computer and system requirements before buying. I wish it worked out because it was real cute

When I first bought this I didn't see the "refurbished" in the title name, once I seen that it said that I was a little freaked out as I know how amazon grades their refurbished items (former processor/picker/packer and stower @ a return fulfillment center) and I know that half of those people in all of those areas half a$$ do anything. But I have to say it has done a good job so far, other than it trying to do repeated prints that I have to hastily press the cancel button. Other than that, it was very well packaged, looked pretty much brand new.

This printer worked fine when hardwired with the supplied USB cable. As for WIFI, forget it. After 2 hours of carefully reading instructions, trouble shooting over and over, then finally giving up I finally connected it with the USB cable to get it to work. It's a nice compact printer and prints fine for the price, just don't count on using it on WIFI. At least the one I got didn't work that way.

This was my first time purchasing any “refurbished” equipment such as a printer. I was really skeptical initially. I was very pleased to receive it with all on the necessary cords as well as set up instructions. However, my only disappointment was/is that the previous Factory Warranty was Expired at least a year and something. I had to go to Amazon’s site and purchase it.
