  • Excellent little workhorse
So I got this baby back in 2019. My Compaq Presario that I had for almost ten years, since 2010, just bit the bullet because of an unfathomably hot summer. This was the only recourse I had. At the time it was 97.74, a more than fair price for the amount of functionality it gave me. It saved my tuchus, I tell you what. For a direct comparison, in 2016 we got an Optiplex 755 for $75, and it should have been $25. This HP has integrated graphics UHD 630 that, for my purposes, was just good enough to run Skyrim at 720p on Medium settings and fullscreen. Now keep in mind this was in 2019, before some of Windows 10's worst updates which REALLY screwed the performance of this hardware. After I was forced to get more RAM, but the PC never really worked the same. That's Microsoft's fault. I never attempted to go to Windows 8, but I did try Windows 7, and unfortunately the UEFI system on this computer refuses it. This is in comparison to BIOS, which is now being phased out, in what I believe is an effort to FORCE people to use newer and more faulty OS that are plagued with predatory updates, IE Windows 10/11. That being said, the computer performed extremely satisfactory for very general usage, non intense gaming like a couple hours long Skyrim session, and even basic video/audio conversion and editing (converting to other types, clipping). Before the awful updates it was just as good if not better than my late and faithful Compaq Presario, and the RAM offset those crappy updates a good deal. Now, the issue with this PC is that it IS NOT made for upgrading. That doesn't mean you CAN'T, but your options are limited. I still use it to this day, I have a soft spot for my old boy, but it has no M.2 slot, its CPU options are SEVERELY limited, its SFF design means your GPU options are also limited, and its L-Shape PSU means you'll be hardpressed to find a better PSU to support a more powerful GPU. As I said, the Integrated Graphics are, or were, good enough for Skyrim before Windows 10 updated, But if you want a better experience or beefier games, you'll need a GPU, and the ones that fit in this pc are limited. For instance, the GT 1030. The CPU is even more limited, as there is a handful of not very good CPUs to upgrade this. However, I firmly say going from the A6 5400B to an A8 5500 was a noticeable and welcome improvement. It has, or had, I'm not sure about newer offers, multiple USB 3.0 ports in the back, four in the front, and supports an SSD sata drive (2.5 inch), but doesn't have a caddy for it. Still, it's an improvement over an HDD. It's a fantastic PC for general use, especially on an OS that isn't as annoying or demanding as Windows 10. For $100 or less its worth it if you need a replacement quickly and like to tinker and upgrade on a budget. But at the time of writing it's going for $162, and I can't abide by that. ... show more

  • So far so good
I got this computer to run in my Ham radio shack to operate contact logging software and for other Ham tasks and general computing. It arrived on time and reasonably well packed. The computer appears practically new, no obvious cosmetic damage to the case or funny smells. The keyboard and mouse appear to be brand new, although I haven't used them because I'm using the KB and mouse I had on the old computer. The computer booted up and went through the configuration process without any problems and was running fine within 20 minutes. I am running two monitors, one with the VGA port and the other with the DisplayPort. Firefox and Chrome downloaded with no problems and it synced up with my Microsoft account after logging in. So far it seems to be a good, basic machine, and I appreciate the large number of USB ports. The computer was wrapped in plastic and had Styrofoam corner guards and was packed in a well fitting box, which was in turn put inside an Amazon box. There could have been a little more padding in the Amazon box because the computer box rattled around in the bigger box a bit. So far I only have a couple of hours on the machine but it seems like a solid performer for routine tasks. November 15, 2019 update: Still running fine, no problems. Still mostly used for ham radio related tasks but it connected fine to my older Brother multifunction laser printer. I've had over 10 Chrome windows open plus a couple in Firefox and other stuff going on, and had no problems. Thinking about getting another one for the home office to replace a horribly slow 1.6 ghz model. July 4 2021 update: Still working fine. I had 35 Chrome and 1 Firefox windows open earlier today, plus a couple of other applications. It's running in a very dusty environment (woodworking shop office) and I do need to blow it out one of these days. Still considering getting a second one. ... show more

Would like to add a RX 570 will require a pcie extender if you wish to use one, and psu upgrade. (Comes with 240w not 320w) My only problem is that it says windows 10, but its windows 7. Fair price fast shipping. And no scratches or buffs. ... show more

  • Great Computer for the price!!!!!
The computer arrived very well packed. It also arrived a few days early to my joy. It set up very easily I may add. It already had windows 10 and the speed was good. I am a mom of 4 boys. Two teenagers and 2 young ones. In are house the computer is used for Roblox, streaming Hulu, Netflix, youtube and spotify, email and social media. All apps worked and the streaming movies looked awesome in my opinion. I had a hiccup with it so I contacted Customer Support. I cannot say enough nice things about them. If it had a 6 stars I would give it to them. Awesome support. As for value for money I would say I really felt like I got a great deal for the computer and would happily recommend someone to buy it. Thank you to the sellers for a great job!!!! Great Product!!!! ... show more
