OMG my old chromebook died! I realized that I use it WAY more than my desktop computer - read that as ALL DAY LONG! I use it for work, for contacting friends, for using recipes when I cook, for literally everything! So when it bit the dust, I was in a panic as to what to do. Along came this HP which is almost identical to my old one. I LOVE it. The price was right, comes with the charging cable, lasts a long time with a full charge. It does not have a touch screen which is OK with me, and best of all, if I ever have to replace it, all my info is already stored in Chrome, and I can just pick up where I left off. I didn't expect to use it for much but it's just annoying that it's not compatible with anything. I can't connect external hard drives and sometimes it kicks me out of applications randomly. I don't understand why.

I have a family member that hasn't had a computer in years. I thought I'd buy her this to keep her entertained. It arrived in a very secure box that looked perfect and as new/although it is a referb. Upon opening everything was perfect! If there were any "issues" cosmetically we sure did not see them. Everything seemed to be as new and perfect! Very professionally packaged. I bought this because EVERYONE uses "Chrome" and it is self updating. It arrived, we set it up. have a "mac" and I was unsure of the speed and quality of this machine. After set up/which wasn't hard/I tested this computer and was amazed at the screen quality and sound. I opened several tabs while playing an online movie and everything worked perfectly! This has very limited memory and RAM. However My cousin uses this for surfing the web,watching movies,facebook,ect...and everything works flawlessly! She doesn't use this for editing photo's or storing pictures, so the size of the memory does not affect her. If you are looking to get online and browse, have fun, watch online movies, this is perfect! The 90 day return warranty backed by Amazon is what sold me, and the overall impression of this laptop is what made me leave this review. As I read others reviews/as I am writing this/of the "mouse-track pad issue- for a few bucks you can add a wireless mouse. The overall quality of this is awesome!! ... show more

I bought this product July 8 of this year. I also purchased a warranty when I bought this product. Everything was good. The computer was good until August 6 Navigation keys start popping off and wouldn’t stay down November 3. My product will no longer charge or turn back on, after I went through all the proper steps as far as troubleshooting and reaching out on behalf of my warranty that I bought for this laptop, everything was unsuccessful. The computer still would not work. I got a message from Asurion to return the product. They sent me a label told me in 24 to 48 hours I would receive a gift card for my return, I still have not received it and the gift card amount was nowhere near as much as I spent on the product. FYI at the time when I bought this product they did not let you know that it was refurbished. They sold it as a new laptop. ... show more

First off, this is my first Chromebook. I've had some little experience helping my young children use the ones they borrowed from their school during the pandemic, but I'm really a Windows kind of guy (though I also dabble in Linux). I had been wanting a lightweight laptop so I could browse the web around the house, and manage my self-hosted services without needing to sit down at my desktop. I *knew* what I wanted in a laptop, and I *knew* what to expect with a Chromebook. If you're considering a laptop, these are 2 things to seriously consider, since if you're used to a Windows (or Mac) device, you need to understand that there will be differences in what you can do. Definitely research what Chromebooks are good for (and what they're not) before seriously looking to get one. As far as this specific device goes, I was quite impressed with it, considering it's a Renewed device. I was unable to find any dents or mars (maaaaybe a small scratch/ding) - overall it felt like a new machine. Absolutely no complaints about the device itself. Now, the listing also mentions a USB hub that is supposed to be included. My package didn't include one. I sent the seller a message and fairly quickly (within a day or 2) they replied that they'd look into it. A week or two went by and I hadn't heard anything, so I checked back in with them and within a day heard back that they'd send one to me. Later that week I received it and it seems like a new, HP brand, USB-C hub (provides 3 USB-A ports: a USB 2.0, a USB 3.0, and a USB 3.0 charging port. In terms of using the device, I have no complaints - after reading tons of reviews and guide on buying a Chromebook, I was slightly worried about the CPU in it and what that would mean for performance, especially once I get multiple tabs open. So far, though, I haven't had any issues, and am happy I chose this model. I like the screen size - it's not too big to make carrying the computer a pain, but it's also not so small that it's difficult to do much on it. Battery life is pretty good, as well - I've started with a full charge and watched 3 or so hours straight of Netflix, at full brightness, taking the battery down to 40-50%. Bottom Line: if you understand the benefits and limitations of a Chromebook and are looking for a decent entry-level device, definitely consider this one! ... show more
