UPDATE #2: I filed a warranty dispute with HP and sent a PDF of my Amazon invoice, and they reset the warranty date, so I now have a one year manufacturer's warranty. In addition, the seller responded and told me they offer a one year seller's warranty as well. So I am happier about this purchase. As I indicated below, this is a solid, fast computer, and overall I'm happy with the purchase. Keeping it at four stars because I never give five stars to anyone. UPDATE: According to HP, the factory warranty on this device has EXPIRED. This was advertised as a brand-new computer. There was no indication it had been previously purchased, refurbished, renewed, or otherwise in any condition other than new. It came in a new (not retail) sealed HP-branded box. Was this part of a corporate purchase that never got used and was sold as B-stock? Regardless, the seller needs to either uphold the original 1-year manufacturer's warranty or advertise that THERE IS NO WARRANTY. This is even more misleading than the lack of a fingerprint reader. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Don't get me wrong, Hewlett-Packard makes fine computers, and this one seems to be no different. I've only had it less than a day, but so far it seems solid enough, screen quality is quite good, build quality is good, and most of the specifications line up with what was described - except for the fingerprint reader. There is no fingerprint reader on the device I received, despite the description indicating there is one (right under the number pad "enter" key). I'm not really disappointed in the lack of a reader, but I am annoyed that more care isn't taken to properly describe what's being sold. By the way, this particular model is a 17-cp0700dx, part number 6T489UA#ABA, if anyone is interested in updating the description. ... show more

Not Happy. I purchased my HP 17 Model TPN-I140 laptop on April 23, 2025, and received it on the 25th. On July 3, 2025, Error 3F0 “Boot Device Not Found” popped up on the screen with a QR code. I scanned the code and followed the manufacturer’s instructions on the link. I could not get it past the error code screen no matter what I did. I purchased this for work, and I was in the middle of a job when it failed, fortunately I had my old laptop along so I could finish my work. I tried the HP website and phone number to no avail, looked up the serial number for warranty, found out it expired before I even purchased the laptop (January 2025). I called my local computer store (Milwaukee PC). I was greeted by a human being not some AI Robot. Brought it to them for repairs, turned out the hard drive failed. They installed a new one and re-installed windows, so $180.00 later I have a working laptop. ... show more

No issues with this computer. Maybe I'm biased because I bought this because my last computer was old and slow. I haven't had any issues like the others complaining about the computer. It's fast and reliable. I don't have the touchscreen version and I don't run it of the power cord so I can't comment on battery life. I would recommend this computer if you need more computing power. I do run virtual machines on it and there hasn't been a problem with the extra RAM and processor. ... show more
