I've only had this laptop a couple of days, but I really like it. I replaced an Acer and the construction of this unit if far superior. The Acer had only two small hinges for the screen about an inch wide. This HP has a continues hinge almost the entire length of the case. The hinge mounts broke off the Acer causing me to buy a completely new laptop. Just keep this in mind when purchasing a laptop. Ok a little update. I do like this laptop a lot. I read reviews on here giving one star because the product was broken or didn't work right out of the box. I'm dumbfounded by these reviews. The fact that a product is broke when delivered has nothing to do with the product itself. This device had a defective battery out of the box. I didn't notice that until after a few days. I contacted H P and they were great to work with. They had me run some tests and agreed that the battery was no good. H P offered to replace the battery free, but wanted me to return the laptop to them and they would replace the battery. I declined their offer as I had already loaded my personal info onto the laptop. They weren't game to sending me a new battery and let me replace it. Well, being the kind of person I am, I went to my favorite retailer, Amazon, ordered the proper battery, replaced the dead one and now I have a great laptop with a good battery. I would still give it a 5 star review and recommend it to anyone. ... show more

I use the lap top for work and it does an admirable job. It gets the job when I'm work on line even with sub par hotel Wi-Fi. My Apps and programs run smoothly and I'm not delayed waiting on it to load a program or start up.

I purchased in 2021, and it is still working very well! I am not an every day user, but it functions well for what I need it for. It is easy to navigate, and I haven't had any glitches. The battery life is still very good. Very happy with this purchase!

I read the reviews here before I purchased this laptop 8 days ago, including the 'no wifi' reviews; I actually thought that 'I wont get one of those', ...but I did..., and since no one had said that HP has a fix, I was ready to return my laptop to Amazon for a replacement because the laptop itself is great as far as features and performance[so far]. Well, I called Amazon and they got HP Support in on a 3-way call. HP used the HP Support Assistant app on the laptop to diagnose and temp-fix the issue, once I was on wifi, they remotely updated all drivers associated with the wifi issue, and the laptop in general, for a permanent wifi fix, this, all via the wifi connection; and, they are waiting for my update to ensure that the issue is resolved permanently, so for now, I am impressed with the HP laptop and the HP support. I just wish I didnt have a need for the support in the first place. Also, after watching what the tech did remotely, a knowledgeable person who is AWARE of the HP Support Assistant app could troubleshoot and fix the wifi issue themselves as long as they then also go to the HP site and update the laptop wifi and any other recommended out of date drivers; But again, we shouldnt have to do that... last note, I also have a 3 year old HP Envy laptop that I can now hand off to a family member, it has been bulletproof since day one. I hope to do and say the same about this one in 3 years, minus this incident. ... show more

I've used my new HP laptop for 7 days now. I chose this laptop because of its specifications and the cost ($147) was good. I needed a long overdue upgrade from Window 7 (which I loved), skipping Windows 10 and choosing Windows 11. Although I miss the ease of Windows 7, as there are more clicks in Windows 11, I will get used to it. The laptop itself is great. The keyboard touch is not condensed because it has a key pad so is very comfortable. No, the keys are not lit, which would have been a plus, but I'm okay with it. The touch pad works fine. It does not bounce around and the pointer does not go haywire. It does not come with the word processing or spreadsheet software, so I bought Office 2021 separately over Amazon and loaded it from online links. The process was very easy and I instantly got it on my laptop. The cost was $139 for a one-time, no subscription, software. I did not want a subscription to pay $99/yr for the software. The i5 processor is fast and the graphics are outstanding. Although the laptop will do gaming and stream, I didn't buy it for that. I highly recommend. ... show more

When judging this laptop, always keep the price in mind. First, the cons: Is it a gaming computer? No; the graphics adapter isn't intended for that purpose. Is the housing suitable for those (e.g., children) who toss around electronics without regard for their durability? No; it is cheap plastic. Don't buy it if you expect to use it for those purposes. The matte screen isn't the brightest. The sound quality isn't immersive. There is no optical drive. Now, the pros: The price. This is a 15" laptop with Windows 11. Even though the laptop isn't for gaming, I have used Adobe cs6 software with no issues— Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Audition. Rendering video isn't super speedy, but it isn't unreasonable. I was extremely doubtful it could run those programs, and didn't buy it for that purpose, as I have another computer for it, but it was definitely a great and welcome surprise. Who should buy this laptop? Anyone who wants a light-weight computer for school, travel, or home, on which they can use email, stream video, take notes, browse the internet, or even edit photos and short videos in Photoshop and Premiere Pro. [As a sidenote, I suspect this laptop would have no issues with the beautiful and ubiquitous memory hog, Google Chrome, but I have not installed it. If you do a lot of browsing— and who doesn't?— then I would suggest looking at other browsers, such as Vivaldi.
