HP 14 inch Laptop with HD Touchscreen. I waited until I had this for a while to review. I write a lot, mostly historic fiction. The storage and speed are amazing for that. I was able to download my reasearch without an issue. I'm able to have multiple windows open without loosing performance or speed. The keyboard is a comfortable size for my. small hands. Yet, my mother with her adult size hands is able to use it comfortably as well. It doesn't make excessing noise when I type for long periods. The weight is nice for carrying with me. I've found the touchscreen to be responsive without being touchy. Although, I'm still getting used to the anti-glare. It lowers the light quality a little. It comes with Windows 11 and Bing preloaded. I was easily able to set it up with Google as well. My only small issue is that I can't add accents to my foreign language writing without switching keyboards. It's a minor thing though. To be completely open, I bought it because it was inexpensive. I'm glad I did. The quality far outweighs the Chromebook I accidentally drown. The casing is strong, there aren't any clicks or pops when using it. This isn't my first HP and it won't be my last. It would be great for a student or just household computing. I highly recommend it for an inexpensive laptop. ... show more

    • Decent budget laptop with a disappointing screen

I got mine on sale for $280 and I'd probably only give it 3 stars if you had to pay around $400, which is about what it's listed at ($380) as I write this. The short version- This is a decent enough budget touchscreen laptop but I'd only recommend it for casual users who are specifically looking for the touchscreen feature. If you don't care about the touchscreen you can either get something cheaper or something with a better quality screen. If you're a serious user looking for a touchscreen compatible laptop to avoid having to buy a drawing tablet this won't be good enough for you. If you fit in between those two groups and you just want the touchscreen for something simple like notetaking then this is probably a great budget laptop for you. So first the good- The touchscreen works great for general use. I wouldn't recommend it for a serious artist but if you just want basic functionality for drawing on your notes or something like that then it does the job. A 500GB SSD is pretty good for a computer this cheap. 8GB of RAM is solid for the price, especially in this market. The battery life good, getting around 7-8 hours of consistent use after a full charge. It's responsive for light use from things like web browsing, can't say how it holds up under a heavier load. Anything you'd reasonably expect a budget laptop to be able to handle, I'd say this computer will be able to do it. The bad- The screen quality is really bad. So bad that it would still be considered bad 10 years ago. 1080p HD has been pretty much the floor for laptops, desktop monitors and TVs since the 2010s and this screen is considerably lower resolution than that. For that reason alone if you plan on using this for lots of video streaming or anything where you want high image quality I would strongly recommend AGAINST buying this product. Seriously, I'm satisfied with the laptop on the whole but the screen is trash. I suppose you can't get quality, touchscreen AND still be cheap so it is what it is, you get what you pay for. The keyboard also isn't backlit, which isn't nearly as big of a deal but it's a pain and goes to show that they cheaped out anywhere they thought they could get away with in when they made this thing. I bought my laptop for my daughter birthday unfortunately it got stolen, I ended up reordering it again and the laptop is absolutely trash it overheats so badly. This I would not recommend to anyone to buy feels like it’s a used laptop because it has sticky substance on the keyboard. I would never recommend. It’s even sooooo slow, the screen did not touch at all. Was easy to set up to be honest and connected with wifi with no issue with that ... show more
