I have been using a basic calculator for the first semester of Algebra 2. It was horrible but I got by. Then we started doing weird stuff and I realized I needed a better calculator. I looked around and decided to go all out. I love this calculator. I don't what to say about it but its brilliant. My favorite feature is the copy and paste function, way faster than other calculators because this is a touch screen. I also love how teachers get mad thinking im using a phone and then they come up to me and realize its just a calculator. Battery life on this lasts me about 6-8 days.

I love RPN calculators. That said, the text format input (not CAS) is probably better than RPN. I'm also a TeX user (MathType), and LabView, so the home interface is hauntingly familiar. There's a bit of a nasty learning curve getting started though - backing out of blind alleys without using reset. You really need to read about 50 pages of the (600+page) user manual and pray. Who would think that unplugging and re-inserting the USB cable would fix a frozen screen? I am addicted good graphics color displays though, so I'll figure this thing out one way or another. I need to remember to forget - this thing doesn't act like a 15C or 41CV so I shouldn't expect that. Truly a horse of a different color (think cephalopod, not the same kind of beast at all). (I'm a retired Electrical Engineer and Inventor). (By the way, you will need a spudger, watchmaker pry knife or car interior (plastic) pry tool to get the slip case off the first time.)

This product is not supported by HP and Amazon is confused about that. They gave me Apple support and then HP support. The only support is 48 hour email. When I begged I finally got a PDF manual: 600 pages. There is an active user community and I got the answer I needed overnight there. It has nonvolatile memory and is rather forgiving of mistaken keypresses. The first one had a defective battery or charging system. The second one locked up but I could reset it by inserting a 0.5mm pencil led in the pinhole. I really like this device when it works. As I said it is very forgiving of mistaken key presses. It's easy to retrieve a previous value and bring it down to the main register at the bottom, which is nice. I have't used the programming or graphing. Extensive searching did not reveal any alternative product that supports reverse polish entry.

The media could not be loaded. The calculator does not come with a quick start card or a manual. The graphics are great, and it is easy to use if you're familiar with older HP calculators. It was not intuitive to switch it to RPN notation, which is what I am used to and the main reason I purchased the calculator. There were a few functions missing from the keys, but you could find them within in the menu system. Overall, very happy with it.
