It does what it's needed to do, for the most part. Unfortunately there's small gaps in the holder for the silicone portion which has allowed some small amounts of my duckweed to float out to the free space I wanted, so it will require frequent maintenance or some modification to the device to prevent this. But aside from that, it's good quality. They send plenty of hose so you can trim it as needed to fit the size of your tank. Based on the photos I was concerned about it being short, but I ended up chopping almost 1/3 (or possibly more) for my 6 gallon betta tank. Despite the small amount of room for plants to escape, the flexibility and quality of the product is good.

Did the job but it did sag a bit and seemed like it needed better support. Let duckweed ober i and the duck weed would stick to it and weigjt it down and get over. It was fine but i woulfnt use it with a lot of floating plants.

Who woulda thunk?!? This thing is great! It does what it says it’ll do. It creates a clear area for either feeding and/or keeping duckweed out of the filter area. It took me a hot second to figure out how to attach the tubing… my 60yr old brain just couldn’t see it in my head. But once I got it, I got it. The tubing is free floating and rides up and down the suction cup rods with the water level in the aquarium so it’s always on top of the water. Granted it’s not perfect, but it’s def worth the money.

Here's how it works. Put floating plants inside the corral. A minute or two later, the plants go under the corral tubing, and then drift under the stream of water coming from the filter. The force of the water shreds the plants into little pieces and pushes them throughout the aquarium. The net result is that you have small pieces of shredded plants thoughout your aquarium, which then turn brown and die. The final step is to painstaking remove all the pieces of dead plant from your aquarium. After that, the corral works great because there are no longer any plants in your aquarium.

I added a before & after pic on this review. The hose guard is definitely worth the few dollars ur going to spend. Before the guard all my floating plants were getting sucked into the filter & it was so annoying. Now it's so much better.
