  • CNC Single Pass on 12mm Baltic Birch Ply
I use these for cutting single pass 12mm & 15mm baltic birch plywood. The advantage of these mini compression bits is the packed sawdust they leave in the kerf. For my CNC cuts I do not program any hold-down tabs and the parts stay in place because the sawdust packs so tightly, in fact I need to punch them out after the machining is complete. I've been getting 2-3 full sheets of plywood per cutter, so price per longevity is a bargain. ... show more

  • Check diameter
These bits are great for the price but make sure you put the proper bit diameter offset in your CAM software. Mine measured to .132 inches in diameter. If you entered .125inches or 3.175mm you parts will not be the proper dimension. As far as the the cut quality, I'm impressed. I have been cutting quite conservatively 1/4 inch deep at 100 ipm. I've cut up multiple full sheets of 4x8 plywood with the same bit and no signs of dulling. I will buy again ... show more

  • Performed Admirably, particularly considering the price
These were actually quite impressive, particularly considering what I paid for them. I purchased them to router out half inch Baltic plywood. I expect it to burn through them pretty quickly considering how inexpensive they were but I was able to get through several pieces with one bit before I head to change. There was no blowout on the top or bottom services so they performed admirably. I didn’t push them too hard but that may have been a factor of the router horsepower and not the bit. I will purchase again ... show more

  • I am always pleased with my Hozly bits
I use my Hozly compression bits exclusively for CNC wood carving on both soft and hard woods. I have never experienced any troubles with unexplained or premature breaking, dulling, or burning pieces. Usually when I order a set of bits, I will spot check with calipers to verify the dimensions and overall appearance. So far, I have always found these bits to be as sharp and dimensionally accurate as any of the more expensive ones that I have ever used. As a small business, I appreciate the durability and quality of these bits, while not eating into my budget. I expect to continue buying more varieties as my business expands, and I hope to find the same results in the future. ... show more

  • Hands down best value!
I use these on my Shapeoko XL CNC and they are a must have. I used to always order high dollar Amana bits thinking that "expensive = quality". While Amana makes great bits, it really hurt to break a $50 bit on its second use. So I decided to venture out and try some cheaper ones. I had never heard of Hozly before, but they had a lot of good ratings so I decided to give them a try. These bits have saved me so much money! They really are high quality and you get 5 in a pack for 1/4 of the price. I make rustic flags/military plaques and easily make around 20 items a month. One (yes just ONE) bit can last me for easily 20 jobs. If you haven't checked them out I highly suggest you do! You won't be disappointed with how much value you're getting for these bits. ... show more

  • Single pass operation with 1/4" Baltic birch
I cut mostly 1/4" Baltic birch in a single pass. There was another reviewer of these bits who said they didn't use tabs on their cut pieces, so I gave using a single pass without tabs a try and it does work most of the time, as the waist sawdust crams full the existing cut line. For smaller parts this is problematic. for some reason climb cuts work better for this operation rather than standard cuts (a mild bummer.) Feed rate 100 ipm @ 12,000 rpm. Deviation from straight line path .004" From one bit I can usually get about 2500 inches of cut before the bit needs changing. No tear out top or bottom and as long as you're doing standard cut (non climb cut), cut surfaces take minimal post cut work. ... show more

  • Great Quality for a Very Reasonable Price
I've always been advised to purchase only quality router bits and the extra money necessary to pay for them is actually cheaper in the long run because I won't have to buy them again as soon. Imagine my pleasant surprise that I'm still using the first of these five bits for a longer time than the one supplied with my router and I still have four more to go! Of course I'll purchase these bits again, but I don't know when I'll have to! ... show more

  • Excellent bits at a great price
I am running a CNC router to cut 1/4" plywood forms for the Canoe Model Kits that I sell. I have mostly been using a Yonico down cut bit which costs $15. I have tried other bits as well but these combination up & down cut bits for about $5 each are great! They stay sharp for a long time, leave clean edges top and bottom. I am very pleased with them and have bought a lot of them. Excellent quality at an unbeatable price. ... show more
