We have wood butcherblock countertops in our entire kitchen and I didn’t want to seal them with a varnish. I’ve tried mineral oil but it continues to leave an oily residue on anything paper you leave lying on the counter. I tried paste waxing them and it did a nice job of sealing/ waterproofing them but the process is very labor intensive. This product is easy to apply , seals & waterproofs them and is relatively easy and not so labor intensive to apply. The price on Amazon is lower than most stores that carry it in town. I first applied many coats of butcher block top mineral oil, and now use this (with carnuba wax added) to regularly (once/month) condition. Looks great and has protected the surface during use.
