I bought charred wooden whiskey glasses to display with my small batch whiskey aging barrel and they look amazing! Beautiful deep color, good looking char a perfect match for my display. You do need to take a little special care with them… i put this combination of mineral oil and beeswax (available on Amazon for around $10) on the exterior to maintain the beauty and the manufacturer recommends putting that on the clean interior bottom after each use! This combination is very effective of enhancing and protecting the finish on my aging keg and this charred wooden mugs. The consistency is smooth and medium consistency which makes it not run our of the bottle but not have a hard time dispensing… very easy to apply and rub into the wood surface! It’s odorless and rubs into the surface quickly. Not sure if you would call it dry but leaves a very smooth finish very quickly! This bees wax and mineral oil combination a great addition to my maintenance accessories! The bees wax mineral oil is a great value for the money! I highly recommend getting it for a beautiful well maintained charred mugs , cutting boards or other wood products! ... show more

I applied this to my cutting boards and it did absorb well leaving them nicely hydrated. My boards were very dry so before they started to crack I thought I'd buy a conditioner. They all say the same thing, promising the same, contain same ingredients... I trust Howard products. I use the Howard feed and wax on my mid century furniture after restoring the pieces and then reapply for maintenance. So far, Howard has kept all the wood in my house beautifully so finding this was a no brainer. My favorite thing about the conditioner is that it goes on smoothly, absorbs easily and there's no odor and no residue. I took off a star because I'm writing this review before knowing how long the conditioner will keep my board in good health after use, washings and storage. Used this product on new butcher block after reading reviews and directions pinpointing how one is actually using the butcher block. No additional sanding needed following application due to grain raise. Prep was to sand to a 220 level, apply three coats waiting 30 mins to one hour between coats to allow the wood to absorb the product.
