  • Easy to Read Guide
Format: Paperback
This book was very easy to read! I loved the chapter about the history of the banjo, but beyond that the information was laid out in a way that someone who has never even picked up a banjo (me) could fully understand. After reading this book, I feel like I have the confidence to try out my new knowledge. ... show more

  • Excellent Beginner Guide for Learning the Banjo

How to Play the Banjo is a great starting point for anyone interested in learning this instrument. The book breaks everything down clearly, from understanding the parts of the banjo to basic techniques, chords, and playing tips. It’s written in a way that’s easy to follow and not intimidating, even if you’ve never played an instrument before. I liked how the guide progresses step by step, helping you build confidence as you go. The explanations are straightforward, and the focus on fundamentals makes it easier to practice and improve over time. It’s especially helpful for beginners who want structure without feeling overwhelmed. Overall, this is a solid beginner resource for anyone curious about the banjo or looking to start playing with a clear, organized guide. • Too basic, more history and general banjo facts
Format: Paperback
A decent book as far as general banjo info. But was seriously flawed because it DOES tell you what you need to know to basically play the banjo , but DOE NOT PROVIDE any actual instruction or practice routines to achieve any proficiency in banjo playing. Like a driving instruction book that tells you that you need to move forward to drive, but gives no details about putting the car in gear or hitting the gas pedal to to go . Or stating you need to stop at a stop sign, but gives no detail about braking or brake pedal. Good overview and no general method or instruction offered to actually learn to play. ... show more
