The actual drivetrain of this thing is fine, but I had to send 3hours with it when I got it so that I could figure out how to fill the tires with air. The air nozzles are nearly inaccessible. I practically broke my back trying to get the thing to slide apart to set it up for adult use. And when I tried compressing the thing back together for my son to use, I pulled on the steering wheel which promptly broke in half. Maybe that was daft of me to do, but there is nothing to grab onto to make this thing stretch or shrink. In repairing the broken wheel, where all the controller electronics are located, I discovered terrible soldering on all of the buttons. Which I had to redo. Just as disappointing is the build quality of all the fairings. Light plastic all tacked on to flimsy supports. If it's working, this thing is indeed fun. Perfect as an entry to the go kart world. But for the money I would have preferred to spend it on a traditional gas powered kart. ... show more

This was an absolutely disappointing purchase. I purchased 2 of these go karts costing over $2100 for my kids. One of the kids is 6 years old and the other is 7. These karts are the lowest quality imaginable and absolutely shoddy build. First of all when they arrived they were terribly packaged. It looked like manufacturer could care less for making sure it reached customer safely. Soon after within a week of usage you could see the plastics deteriorate and cracks appearing everywhere. The front bumper was the first and then the back side flaps started falling apart. All of this after very gentle and monitored use by young kids. I was willing to let go of all that but the worst thing was not that. It was that the front rims became defective within a week of usage and starting bending and wobbling. Now the kids that drove these are 6 and 7, barely over 60 pounds and we monitor them everytime they drive these karts. These were also driven in clean well paved parking lots so the fact that these karts started falling apart like is simply mind boggling. Paint is already extremely low quality and chips and I was willing to overlook that but paint is the least of this go karts worries. When I called Hover-1 their customer service is absolutely terrible. Their line was sorry but you are on your own since we don't provide warranty. Zero responsibility for their product. And this is coming from their official center and to someone who purchased over 2100 dollars worth of go karts. Unbelievable. I will never recommend these go karts to anyone due to extremely bad build quality and even worse customer service. Save yourself a few hundred and get something nicer that will last you considerably longer as well. I purchased two of these on June 14th 2022 and it has not even been a month since I have had them and they are falling apart after very gentle usage. Hover-1 and this product get a solid F in every department. I have also contacted BBB and launched a complaint there and no surprise, they are full of complaints for this company and DGL Group who own Hover-1. Lots of negative feedback.     • Is this go kart worth the price tag?
I bought this go kart for my daughter. Being from a respected company that products are found in major stores I had high expectations for the quality. Here is my review: Pros: sturdy metal frame, on the fly adjusting, built in motor and display ( no other items sold separately ) looks great similar to the ninebot gokart. Cons: weldments had porosity and spatter, wiring is thin and exposed and not locked down other than glue, color looks like its spray painted and can be rubbed off, body plastic is cheap. so is this worth over $1,000? my opinion is No, with the poor construction and cheap materials, exposed wiring making it delicate to handle, I believe it should be around a value $500 half of what is priced. I hope this review is helpful to buyers. Folks at Hover 1 , you all need to ramp up on the Quality control, cover those wires and not go crazy on the glue. ... show more

    • Many things to consider

Pros- it is electric (biggest pro), it is fast, steers well, adjusts for height, lights are nice feature, no issues to date charging it. Cons- plastic breaks easily, tires wear easily (and Hover doesn't provide replacements nor say anything about how to replace in the manual) Truth- Bought 2 and used for 3 months. Neither currently work. One had a tire get holes in it so can't use (other front tires are also in rough shape on this one and other but back tires hold up). Second one - Electric doesn't work to the back right tire. Seat belt was not working from day 1 on this one. Advice- make sure to get the insurance policy. I am waiting to see what they do in terms of coverage (purchased Asurian) but hoping they can fix it. Would be awesome if Hover spent a little more time making it higher durability/quality and would be worth it to not have to go with a gas model. Let's hope they read this review! ... show more

    • Be aware the pedals are unprotected from crashes!

I and the Grandkids love this thing! It is about the right power for our driveway and backyard. and the kids, for that matter. However, be aware that the pedals are unprotected by the front bumper. An unfortunate crash into something at the right height could damage these unprotected parts. For example, a very slow crash into the side of a Fox Body Mustang broke the back plastic part of the accelerator. I could put it back together, and with a crack, it still works perfectly. Even though we are still in business, it was very disappointing how quickly this unfortunate circumstance occurred. We have learned from the obvious mistake and cleared all obstacles when driving it now, but it would be better if the bumper covered more of the front parts than it does. ... show more
