I didn't think to check the length when I ordered this. It's a very good ironing board but much larger and heavier than my previous one. Since I am elderly and have limited use of one arm, it's difficult to set up and close. The extension at the end for the iron and to hang clothes is handy but I think it would be better if it were able to be folded down or removed when not needed. ... show more

After having read quite a lot of reviews, I decided on this model. The height was a huge selling point for me. Having a bad back, and doing a fair bit of ironing each week, I was looking forward to not having to hunch over the board. It raises to a beautiful height! I enjoy it fully deployed, but it can be set lower for those that don't want/need the height. I did have to put on one of my own covers due to the one it came with being super thin.     • Make Sure You Note The Resting Piece On The Square End Of The Board

Please note the resting piece at the back of the board. It's great for your iron. However, if you like using the square back of the board for ironing, you obviously cannot do this. For me, I have to use the back of the board for ironing shirts. Worse, this holding piece is welded in place. You cannot move it. This rendered the ironing board useless for me. If, however, you don't iron like this, the product is sturdy, functional, and easy to use. I missed that welded piece as I evaluated the board and that's my mistake ... show more
