This works great. I used both to hold my paddle along side my little pond boat. Instal was super easy. People complained of it cracking, which it is plastic so it can, just dont over tighten it. I ran it snug and it holds solid. My paddle has a 1” shaft and i have to give it a good tug to get out, i dont see anything knocking it off by accident. Just make sure you have a 1” paddle or really close to it.

I like to fish from my kayak. After one try I knew that I needed a place to put the paddle. These clips are perfect. You can snap the paddle securely and have both hands free. The paddle won’t fall off into the water while you a busy doing something else. I can also use a clip to hold my fishing rod while I paddle. But anyone would find this a useful addition to a kayak. You will have to drill a few holes to install the clips but I didn’t find that too difficult. This is a durable and useful product.

Let's start put by saying they work, and what I mean is, it holds your oar snug. Now as far as the mounting screws and fasteners, not to happy with it. They give you 2 different types of mounting hardware. 1 is just regular screws that you screw into your kayak..they go in, but they don't tighten. Everytime you take your oar from the bracket, there is a chance of you pulling the screw out of the hole. The 2nd option they give you is these little rubber compression things with a nut on the end. You have to figure out what size bit to use because there are no Instructions. Once you drill your hole and place thses little compression things in the hole it's supposed to tighten when you put the screw in. If you use this method you will have a lose bracket for your oar, because you can not tighten to much because the compression fitting will pop out of the hoke you drilled. If you try to redo it, the compression nut no longer works correctly and falls inside your kayak. Oh, and you can't get it out.. I like the brackets but don't like the mounting hardware.

I like this paddle holder. No instructions were provided, but it's easy to install. I installed on it on one kayak, forward of the carry handle and used it on the water. I scraped it several times while paddling so the second kayak will have it installed just behind the handle. Maybe personal preference, but more functional for me this way. To install, I used the compression anchors and machine screws. Position the holder so that the paddle will be aligned with the kayak when clipped in, then mark the mounting holes. I drilled small pilot holes, then opened them up with a 3/8" bit. I cut a small chamfer on the hole to allow insertion of the anchors. Attach the holder and tighten down the screws, but don't overtighten. Snap the paddle in and if it wiggles around too much, just tighten it down a little more. This is a much better solution than the elastic line that is attached to the carry handle. I feel much more confident when snapping the paddle into this. I definitely recommend it
