    • Easy removes all hard algae film.
The media could not be loaded. Amazingly simple to use. Effortlessly removing 3 month thick coats of algae that I was dreading to work on. The blade is inserted between the plates after removing screws. Insert the screws thru the plates and holes in the razor and lock down tightly. Be careful since you have an exposed razor's edge with this tool. The shallow angle of the blade allows the blade to slide against the glass or plastic wall without scarring. Don't increase the angle. Work on the same side of the tank your next to, not the opposite side. There is little pressure needed. I wish the handle were thicker for grip, but being gentle and practicing is all you need to do. See the video for an example of how easily it removes algae. I'd scrub with my old plastic blade until my arm ached and still leave algae. I highly recommend this tool. Update April 20, 2020: Found us in a fresh blade makes a huge difference. Swap edges on the provided blades as they are double edged. Still love this thing! ... show more

    • It did a fantastic job on some really stubborn algae.
As always, I paid full price for this item and have no ties to it nor the folks selling it. I'm just a consumer who likes to write a review every now and then in case it helps someone... just sayin'. The reason I gave it 4 stars for ease of use is because the screws that secure the blade are really small and aggravating for my large old fingers to use. I kept dropping them on the floor and having to hunt them on my hands and knees. I eventually learned to sit down at the table with a cake pan under me and did finally get the job done. I'm sure I will get better at this over the coming months, but that was sort of tough for an old geezer like myself. Other than that minor complaint I am ecstatic with my new cleaner. Just learn from my mistake and get set up at the table with a cake pan and good lighting before even trying. I changed from fluorescent to LED lights on 3 of my 4 aquariums recently and this resulted in a green algae bloom like nothing I've ever experienced, and I've been keeping aquariums for over 50 years. NO magnetic cleaner or sponge would touch this, and I tried a great variety of them. It has to have something to do with the light spectrum being emitted from the LED lights causing a type of algae I'm not familiar with. It is green, but it feels like sandpaper and just will not come off by traditional means. It got so bad I couldn't even see my fish. I put plecostomus fish in the tank and they couldn't even deal with it. I was seriously beginning to wonder if I might have to toss the entire setups and just start over. Then I caved in and bought this razor cleaner. And WOW, did it work great! In very little time I had my tanks in tip top shape again. I worried about scratches on the glass, but this wasn't a problem at all. Also, one of my tanks is really deep, and this scraper was plenty long enough to reach the bottom and it still worked well at that depth. Unfortunately, unless I spend a lot of money and change back to fluorescent bulbs, I guess I will be a slave to this new type of aquarium cleaning. But at least this tool makes the task a lot easier. If you have a similar algae problem in your glass tank you need this tool. I would just say however that you will need to be careful around the edges so as not to dislodge any silicone. I was at my wits end with this stubborn hard to scrub off algea in my koi tank. I was looking for a handheld razor blade tool but found this GEM! WOW. it works flawlessly. I'm amazed. I used it on my other tank which wasnt as bad and it really helped brighten up my cichlids. Someone mentioned that they couldnt use it on the back glass if it's against a wall but I was able to. This tool is a game changer. And yes be careful that blade is sharp! It comes with a pack of blades as well and it is double sided. ... show more

I read a lot of the reviews before making this purchase and I saw a few that said they had problems and this and that I don't understand why they were so negative this is a wonderful algae scraper for my tank it sure beats all the plastic ones that I see in the pet stores this is by far one of the best LG scrapers I've ever seen on the market good price for the product being stainless steel!!! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This came with the box of 10 razors separate from the scraper (2 bags). There was 1 single razor in the bag with the scraper. When I opened the box to count the 10 razors, I counted 11, so I got a total of 12 razors with the scraper- bonus. I have a shrimp tank I've been running for about a year and the magnetic scraper wasn't cutting it anymore. I had put off buying a blade scraper but figured it was about time. I didn't have to use a lot of pressure to scrape off my quite built-up algae. As far as I'm concerned, this is definitely worth it. ... show more

Best algae scraper ever! Don’t waste your money on that Flipper scraper like I did. This is sturdy and very strong and amazing algae scraper. My 4 other friends bought them after I demonstrated it to them. Too bad I didn’t get commission for this product. No questions ask THE BEST SCRAPER!

Love this handy scraper. As long as you make sure to angle it properly it glides across both glass and acrylic tanks with ease and removes even exceptionally stubborn algae with ease. Was going to try the fl!pper credit card scraper since I’ve been using a regular handheld hotel card but was thrown off by the price and design, so glad I chose this instead.
