With arthritis, it seems a steam bath might be just the right thing for our future bathroom remodel. This book gave us very specific information on how it is done, what is required in plumbing and electrical, and even the various health benefits from each type of setup.

I'm building a sauna. This book was reviewed as having valuable information for such a pursuit. It does not. It is very general and as much about how to take as sauna as how to build one. Once received, I even had a hard time figuring out who this book was written for. It covers hot tubs, steam room and saunas. Do you need a book to decide on which to build? Are you going to build one based upon descriptions of each experience from a book? Maybe, but I'll be 95 out of a 100 people have been in one or all and are entering construction with their favorite in mind. Purchased for my savvy husband who is interested in building a steam room. He enjoyed the overall view of the book. It has a glossary, supplier list, and index, which I think is very nice. However, it did not give any book titles regarding this topic to go more in-depth in one of the discussed areas. The front cover states, 'for planning and designing your home health spa'. It seems that would be only for those who would hire it done. If one is truly interested in building a home spa, this a good background book, but you will need to look elsewhere if you truly want to build one. ... show more

Good info about steam baths but was not looking for the water heater generators to create steam so it wasn’t helpful. I wish the write up indicated that before I purchased it.
