I have finally decided to get a new flat iron after having my old one for longer than I wanna say. I loved it, it would still heat up quickly and cool down quickly. Plus it had the rounded plates to curl if I wanted to. The main thing for me is the auto shut off, I’m always in a rush. So I wanted to do my research this time and get something that I would love for years again. I had purchased a Chi flat iron which I have always heard were amazing. But I still wasn’t amazed by it. So I returned it. Then after the reviews for this one I thought this is it! To be fair it does make my damaged hair feel and look soft and healthy which is awesome! And it does work quickly, I don’t have to go over the same piece more than 2 times. However, it did snag my hair a couple times. I’m wondering if maybe I’m doing something wrong. Plus I still get static electricity and frizz’s in my hair so again I’m wondering if maybe it’s my hair products and not the flat iron. And even though I wasn’t expecting this to have a locking mechanism since I never seen it mentioned anywhere, I was kind of excited for this unexpected addition. However, it does not work! I wrote a question above for this and tried the suggestions and it still doesn’t work. It’s just frustrating to have a brand new product and not all the features work properly even if I wasn’t expecting it. So I may give it a couple more tries to see how I feel and if I’m still not in love I may return and keep looking. I do love how my hair feels and looks though! ... show more

Friends had recommended Hot Tools and a few different brands of flat irons, most were far more expensive. I am extremely pleased with the quality of this one, especially for the price. Very lightweight and easy to use. The temp display is awesome. I upgraded from a real clunker with a dial that i couldn't read, so my 2 options were basically luke warm or fry immediately - and that one didn't cost much less than this. Only thing from keeping it from 5 stars is I have to go over my hair more than once. With my chi I hardly ever had to go over hair twice. Soooometimes my hair doesn’t hold the straight when I walk outside, never had that issue with my Chi. But all in all, not a bad product. I use it often.

It might work for some people but for me it made my hair dry and static. It does get hot and work well but maybe because I don't use heat on my hair as much it made it like that. I've Had other straighteners and they never made my hair that way I only use it for special occasions. I guess you get what you pay for. ... show more

Cons -it could takes a while to get hot. I think it could do better on the temputure I don’t feel that it’s 450degrees. Pros- it’s better then then a lot of these other competitors irons . It does get the job done pretty good with a little more effort and time. But not drastic timing needed. It’s a fair item to buy with price budget . I would Definitely buy again overall ... show more

This flat iron snags my hair sometimes. It straightens my hair, but I just wish it wouldn't snag so much. My other flat iron doesn't do that at all. I have heard that Hot Tools is a good brand, but this flat iron is not that great.
