Finally something that gives me easy to do beach waves! For reference, I’ve tried curling wands, a highly rated T3 curling iron, and even the L’ange Le Duo and none of them have given me good and fast results like this Hot Tools extended length curling iron. What makes it better than the others - 1. Extended barrel length and shorter clamp makes it easier to curl long hair vs my T3 and the curling wands. I prefer to have the clamp for a secure hold (vs the curling wands), but the fact that this clamp is a bit shorter than other curling irons makes it easier to get a chunk of hair in. My T3 has the clamp, but I always ran out of barrel length when I tried to curl my hair, so closer to the roots didn’t get hot enough to really curl because they were basically double wrapped on top of other hair. 2. The top finger grip spins. I know other reviewers didn’t like this feature, but for me the rotating finger hold makes it so easy to wrap the hair around the barrel by just leaving the top hand in place while spinning the handle end. 3. It gets HOT! The Le Duo doesn’t seem to get as hot as this or maybe it’s just that since the Le Duo doesn’t have any spring loaded clamp, it’s not contacting the hair as well to transfer the heat. Either way, I prefer this one. I rarely include photos, but wanted to with this review. In the first photo, it was my first time using this iron and these waves only took me 15 minutes to do and came out so nice. Hopefully I’ll get faster/better with more practice! Last 2 photos are a different day where I didn’t brush the curls out - that’s how they looked when left to fall naturally for a few hours. ... show more

My hair comes down a few inches past mid back and I wish I would have gotten an extra long curling iron sooner. I can curl my hair in fewer sections & it lasts for days. Love that you can control the temp & that it comes with extra hinges!

This curling iron is great for long hair. I ordered a smaller barrel one and liked it so much, I ordered this one too. The longer barrel may be a waste for shorter hair but it’s great for long hair! Love it, great product at a really good price for a quality iron.

I would have given it 5 stars had it not arrived with flaws on the barrel. I purchased this curling iron because I had one previously and got 8 years of use before it stopped working.     • Disappointed-no longer works after 2 months!!!!!
Initially very happy with this extra long curling iron. However, with using only TWICE A WEEK , the curling iron is no longer working after 2 months (delivered 8/21/23 and stopped working as of 10/14/23. The light began to flicker on/off a week prior and now nothing longer heats up at all. Disappointing to say the least. ... show more
