I am going to start off by saying, if you purchase this item, check the lock mechanism FIRST, ecause chances are high that it may not work. I first purchased this straightener on August 18th,2022, received on the 20th opened the box, tried it out a few times and noticed the lock feature failed. Slid it into the lock posting on and it popped right open. I contacted Amazon immediately and they graciously replaced it. I then received the replacement, the first think I checked without taking it out of the plastic was the lock feature and SURPRISE! that lock didn’t work either. I proceeded to contact Hot Tools about this flaw in the manufacturing of their product and rep ( who acted as if she couldn’t care less) told me to contact Amazon and there was nothing they could do. What is Amazon going to do about their manufacturing mistake?!? So I contacted Amazon to return the replacement and again Amazon made it right, sent me a label for the return of the replacement and refunded my money. Don’t bother with Hot Tools customer service as they are useless and disappointing. The price now is 10.00 cheaper that when I originally bought it on August 18th. 🤔 If you are buying any styling tools, always purchase the extended warranty and save the box. Now for the better part of the review. I have been a big fan and have purchased many of their styling tools. The longer plate is great, especially if you have longer hair, better for the beach waves/curls. Nice length to the cord, which is a swivel. Heats up fast. Now to my so-so part of the review. The fact that they changed these to plastic from the former rubber like texture is the Achilles’ heel. The “rubber”, though at first was a great feature, over time became very sticky to where my hair was sticking to it, hence me grabbing this model. With the updated plastic, no more sticking and it was much easier to style my hair as it slides through much easier. I will say that I did notice that the plastic did get quite warm (more than with any typical straightener), as the plastic may be too thin and because the plate is longer.🤷🏻♀️ I guess if the locking feature isn’t a big deal to you and if you can get it for 39.00 as opposed to the 49.00 I paid, I say go for it. It would be worth the price, just make sure that you get the extended warranty. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. looks and feels great does not feel cheap like others ive purchased and returned not flimsy i like that the plates touch each other thats a big plus for me if you know about straighteners you know for a good one the plates must touch:) tried it and heats up nice and fast also leaves hair nice and slick slides good on hair ass well no pulling either . ... show more
