The description says they are made from chrome vanadium steel, but the package says they are carbon steel. Despite that, the wrenches are polished to a bright finish, they're labeled clearly on both sides and both ends, and they come with a canvas roll to store them in. I needed one to install a vacuum breaker on a shower. It worked fine. In my opinion they are an excellent value.
