Some of the negative reviews don’t reflect the actual build quality or assembly process. Assembly was straightforward with standard non-verbal instructions. It took about an hour the first time, but now that I’ve done it once, I could reassemble it in 5–10 minutes. The base and top are thick, solid wood pieces, the metal grates feel durable, and while the back panel is thinner, it’s properly reinforced and doesn’t bear any load. All parts aligned perfectly during assembly. The sliding door can be fine-tuned by slightly adjusting the wood panel that holds the rail, which significantly improves how smoothly the door slides. The locks did have a few paint chips and don’t appear to be powder-coated, but this was minor and didn’t detract from the overall quality. The wood finish looks great and does not feel cheap. Honestly, the price could be significantly higher and still feel justified for the quality you’re getting. ... show more

    • Pretty but weaker particle board and hard to put together

The back is super thin particle board with a piece of plastic holding it together. The top and bottom are thicker, but still not solid. If your dog wants out, they can easily break the back. It’s also very difficult to put together and directions were confusing and hard to follow. So, mine isn’t quite right. The screws stopped super easily, so it’s not like we could take it apart to fix it. Also, it’s just a hair small for the normal dog bed size that should fit in it. ... show more

The crate is beautiful and mostly well-crafted. I am confused by the design elements of having the bolt at the top of the door, since it doesn't function. The crate itself is sturdy, doesn't shift or bump around easily, and was simple to put together. Star removed because one of the bottom bolt assemblies was mangled and unusable, and the remaining bolt assembly pin assembly broke after a few days of use. Honestly cannot say I recommend this crate. I’ve had it for about a month now. Pros: It’s GORGEOUS. The actual structure of it is sturdy. Neutrals: It did take a while to assemble, and the instructions had to be read (and sometimes re-read) carefully. However, I enjoy assembling furniture so I just threw a movie on and that part was no biggie for me. Cons: the inside measurements do not fit a standard sized dog bed. It SHOULD fit a 35x22”, but 22” from the back wall makes the bed sit beyond where the door slides. I have to find a chew-proof bed for my dog, and I’m having a really hard time as it needs to be about 20” wide. The functionality of the locks is absolutely AWFUL. They seem to be pretty cheaply made…..even with everything lined up perfectly, they’re extremely hard to lock. My dog gets very stressed out when I lock him, so the fact that it takes a solid 30+ seconds to get him bolted in is not great. The top bolt is only there to prevent the door from being pushed forward…..it doesn’t actually lock anything. Today when I came home, I discovered that my dog had somehow knocked the door loose enough that it came off the bottom track, and as soon as I touched it one of the wheels came off the top track. I’m assuming that he will soon figure out how to bust himself out (he is a 35 lb terrier mix, so not a large or aggressive breed.) It has some great qualities, but it’s definitely a regrettable purchase for me. I wish I’d spent more time reading through reviews, but I was so excited about how pretty it was, I rushed to purchase it. ... show more

Overall great price for this item. I have gotten many compliments on it. I have a blue heeler and it fits her and her bed perfectly with no issues and room to spare. The door did come off the track once at the bottom but it was easily fixed and I’m sure it was my error when installing the door. No iissues after that. Great product. Would buy again ... show more
