I've never installed a control board before but quickly learned out of necessity. My furnace stoped working with a bunch of clicking from the original panel. Called my HVAC company and was told a new one would cost $1200! I had already checked prices and wasn't about to pay their absurd markup, so I asked the technician to bypass the board and just hookup the the living room thermostat with all baffles open so my family wouldn't freeze. He said he wasn't allowed, I would have to buy the new board. A little intimidated with all the wiring, studied the panel and traced back some of the wiring until I understood. Then bypassed it myself and ordered this unit. Delivered two days sooner then expected and installed it in about an hour. ... show more

Replaces a Honeywell total zone system. (18 years old and one zone had failed) Everything hooked up very straight forward. Would have given it 5 stars for installation, but the push connectors are a little tricky. Use of needle nose pliers to push in and hold the wire in place while pushing in the connection button helped a lot. Those with large fingers will find this very helpful. Total time to mark the wires, remove the old panel, cover old holes, mount new zone controller, hook up wires and test system ( including damper actuation) Was 1 hour. I went with the Honey well system because I could use the existing duct temperature sensor. Great value considering the HVAC service company wanted $1000 to change it. ... show more
