I purchased this item to cover the eyesore that resulted from removing my old thermostat and replacing it with a smart (Nest) one. This wall plate is sturdy as it is made from metal and larger than the Nest it covers up a nice portion of the wall. I recommend it!

Unfortunately within 4 years after the 3rd nest learning thermostat stopped working with a well known error code we replaced the thermostat with a different brand.
