I bought one of these in 2018 and I loved it so much I bought two more when we moved into a larger house. They really do a great job of cooling off the rooms they are in. Highly recommend this A/C unit. Good job Honeywell on this product. It has a drain but hardly ever needs to be drained.

After using this A/C for about 2 days, my wife asked if I could hear the high pitch noise when the compressor is running. It was very annoying. Then several days later the unit just shut itself off. There were no warning indicators. We checked to see if it needed to be drained and it did not. The power to the unit went out completely. Tried to reset and hit the power button and nothing happened. About 2 hours later the unit turned itself back on and started working again. Am returning this unit and trying a different model. So far. So good. Haven't had the unit long enough to say anything about it. One disappointment js that tjr venting parts wete missing. According to Amazm"s policy about missing parts I would have to pack the unit to return it to get a unit with all parts. Didn't do that jusy bought thr parts and kept the ac. It works fine so why should I pack everything just for the window kit. ... show more

This is the most powerful beastie of a portable air conditioner I could find. I am done with the cheap, light, wussy air conditioners with questionable cooling and "quiet" barely functional fans that pretend to cheat the laws of thermodynamics with fake BTU ratings. I tried using this unit and ultimately returned it. I think it might be OK if it is handled very gently. I want to leave a review as I purchased this item due to the high review score and I want folks to get honest feedback. The front panel of my unit was separated. It's quite thin and was intended to be held in place by thin plastic parts. This caused the front controls to lack illumination and responsiveness from time. The instruction say not to remove the panel - mine literally fell off when I was tryign to turn the unit off. I was not able to get the room below 80F using this unit. I read all of the instructions and it was properly installed. The exhaust tube gets quite hot. There was also condensate build-up in the unit (not the dehumidifier port), which leaked out from under the unit after I turned it off. This got all over my floors. When I went to drain the dehumidifier port, rusty water came out. I ended up having to return this unit and purchase something else during a massive heatwave, so I am pretty bitter about the inconvenience. ... show more
