  • Perfectly Fine For The Money
Size: 10 Color: Black - Steel Toe
Overall, I believe that these are great boots FOR THE MONEY. Context is key here. Are they mind blowingly amazing, super comfy, top of the line boots? No. Are they more than adequate for average joe use, for the cost? Absolutely. Would I recommend them if you're a hard-core, every day construction worker? Probably not...unless you're hard up for cash. My Intended Uses: I ordered these for some weekend concrete work and general "beater" boot duties around the house or up north. I do not work in any kind of construction field so they will not see daily wear and tear. Shipping & Packaging: Shipping was fast, 1 day. Packaging was normal, came in a sealed plastic bag. Nothing to complain about. Size & Fit: As other reviewers have said, they run a bit big. I usually wear a size 10 shoe and so often order a size up in boots to allow for room with thicker wool socks, etc. Well these boots I ordered in a size 10 and they fit (with the wool socks) perfectly. If you're wondering about sizes, definitely take a look at the size chart in the pictures on this listing. I followed their recommended measurements/sizes and it turned out to be correct. Comfortability: I would give them a "normal" comfort rating. They're definitely not what I would call "comfortable", in the sense that I think "wow, these are really comfy to walk around in". BUT, they are not UN-COMFORTABLE. They don't hurt the feet to walk around in and the steel-toe insert doesn't hurt or stick out in any bad way either. Quality: Overall quality control leaves a little to be desired. As you can see in my pictures, there are plenty of left over rubber tabs and pieces from when the excess rubber from the mold was trimmed off the boot. The cut on the tops of the boots are a little off as well. Does this impact functionality? No, just goes to show that QC isn't the primary focus of the manufacturer. But I didn't find anything that would negatively impact the actual use of the boot. There weren't any holes, or rips, or broken seams or anything of that nature, and the tread looked perfectly fine. Quite a hefty tread on the bottom. Weight: They're not HEAVY (I've definitely owned much heavier boots before), but they're not athletic shoe light either...not that you should reasonably expect that anyways. Just a relatively normal boot weight. To me it's not anything that would detract me from buying them again. Place of Origin: The boots have "Made In USA" on the top side of the boot. If that's important to you, then there you go. Overall Impression: Like I said, they're great boots...for the money. They probably won't last for 20 years, they're normal/average in comfort, and QC on the final product isn't exactly top notch. I guarantee there's plenty of better boots out there. BUT, for only $22.00 and PRIME shipping, you really can't complain too much. You get what you pay for, and considering I barely paid anything, I'm 100% satisfied with my purchase. If you need a heavy duty, long-term, every day construction boot, look elsewhere. If you just need a pair of cheap boots to muck around in on weekend projects, then these boots will do just fine and won't break the bank. ... show more

  • Good value steel-toed boots are a bit HEAVY
Size: 13 Color: Black - Steel Toe
A good product overall. Solid construction, very easy on and off (a definite plus), with decent support. They're a little wide at the top to accommodate the legs of your jeans or whatever pants you're wearing, and it helps make them easy to put on & take off. Works well with my jeans, but if you're wearing pants that aren't bulky then I can see some rain, dirt, or hay getting in. The potential problem with these boots is that they're fairly heavy. The size 13's I bought weigh about 3 lbs. EACH. The steel toes are very solid and give full coverage, but they add a lot of weight. They also reduce the comfort of the toe-box somewhat. (A thick pair of hiking socks took care of that for me.) If you need steel toes for all day wear or for extensive walking, it might be worth paying more if you can find a lighter pair. But for wearing them around the yard or barn for an hour or two, I didn't have any noticeable fatigue. These seem like a good value boot for the money, as long as the weight isn't an issue for you. ... show more

  • Very Good Value
Size: 14 Color: Black - Steel Toe
This my 2nd pair that I purchased. The first one lasted about 4 years before it has a small tear on the foot box. I used it almost everyday. I know I had my money's worth since it has steel toes for extra protection. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a reasonable priced rubber boot that can give you years of use. ... show more

  • Water resistant? Yes, but very wide leg area will fill up easily if u have to walk thru a creek.
Size: 10 Color: Black - Steel Toe
I compared at least 6 different rain boots, mud boots and different sizes in some. They were sizes 9, 10, 11 etc. Depends on the manufacturer: For our purposes here I will compare size 10 in: 1. Hisea, 2. Guide Gear, 3. Crocs AllCast, 4. Seac 6mm, 5. Servus Comfort tech, 6. LaCrosse Diamondback snake proof To be be fair, the LaCrosse is the most uncomfortable because it is a more rigid snake proof boot. Safety first, comfort last. That being said there is a better, more versatile and just as safe alternative. I'll try to remember to add it in here later. Back to the boots. I'm going to rank these for ease of scanning reviews [I know I read hundreds trying to find the items]. All Size 10: In all of the boots, if you want to use your sole insert order one size up. Except Hisea seemed to fit size 10 with insert [i.e., it runs a size+ large]. 1. Seac 6mm dive boot: fits like a shoe and almost looks like one. Nice full rubber sole. Size 10 is snug on this 9.5-10 foot [that's with sock. Took the sock off and was perfect. Wet foot little difficult to get in but slide your fingers down your foot or use a plastic grocery bag over foot]. Can wear zipped on side for real water proof needs or unzipped walking/hiking around. Yes Hiking! These are great for Fossil hunting in shorts, wearing under BuzzOff pants, with wading overalls to stay dry in summer or winter [6mm], or walking on beaches with shells or while diving coral reefs. VERY versatile. ALL the other boots are not meant to be worn in water deeper than @12". The Crocs maybe 6". If you say you want boots to hunt/hike I'd say buy the Crack Shot Snake Guardz and wrap over these and your jeans [or bare even legs} MUCH more comfortable and versatile. 2. Guide Gear: fits slightly looser than Seac. Very comfortable with over calf boot [calf area appears large enough to fit the guy on the insurance commercial with the calk implants] Fits like a true size 10. Plenty of room in toe. just a little pressure on top of the foot. If you're dead set on a traditional "mud boot" look these are a great choice. Plenty of room to stuff your pant legs into the contoured calf area. I'd then add the Snake Guardz over that. 3. Crocs AllCast [after this it's a distant 4th etc] Size 10 fits like size 11 maybe 10.75. Size 9.0 fits okay I guess like a 9.25. They are comfortable and I could wear either around the house. The 10's flop a lot though and heel slide even in 9.0's. Very comfy but whats the purpose of half calf in these? More of a walk the dog or walk to work, If you're going in streams it will fill up. 4. Hisea: perplexing. Kind of comfortable sole but size 10 is more like an 11.5. And bulky, and foot area doesn't seem to have enough curve to it. Be difficult to get a good fit unless you ordered at least three pair to try on. I'd think the mud would just suck this boot in, especially if in the water when it fills up. 5. Servus "Comfort" Technology: Heavy. Rubber sole not bad. Okay if you just need to slip on to get something out of car. Wouldn't want to walk far. VERY wide calf opening. Your wife could probably stuff her purse in there. 6. LaCrosse Diamondback snake proof boots: If I was going in snake infested area and I didn't have time to order on Amazon I'd wear these. But wow, heavy, stiff and uncomfortable. The ONLY option I found to wear on it's own, with waders for waterproof fishing/hunting/hiking or fossil/relic hunting [not brand] that covers ALL the bases [Functionality, comfort, ankle support and WATERPROOF...as in water can't come in over the top of the boot] is the Seac. I will add photo of all boots for visual comparison efficiency. Hope that helps. Good luck and let me know what else you'd like reviewed. Since my three Strokes I don't get out much. Carpe Diem. This is one of first days I have ever done a review. Please give a "Helpful" up vote. ... show more
