In my apartment, my central AC system is so bad, it doesn't lower the temp, and it costs a fortune to run. This summer it got to 82° in my apartment and it was impossible to sleep in that heat. This unit covered the entire Sq ft area of my place and it dehumidies at the same time as it cools. It's not too loud. In fact, I like the noise. The vent moved up and down automatically to simulate wind and now the entire apartment is cooled to 70°. While this product was more than I wanted to spend, it checked off all the boxes I had when deciding to purchase. It coveres the Sq ft, it's from a company I can trust, (not Chinese crap) and it's a single exaust so it's more efficient. I love this thing and it was worth every penny ... show more

Forget the fact that the hose is a pain to thread into the brackets and likely to pop out. Forget that the window panel doesn't fit properly in a standard window. Forget the airplane-level noise. Forget the adequate, but not excellent cooling ability. Just remember this: draining this thing of accumulated water is a NIGHTMARE. Unless you are able to wheel this heavy beast to an outside area to tip and drain it in a yard (which, by the way, still won't be easy,) forget it. Run far away. The valve is so low to the ground - basically on the ground - so you cannot put anything under it to catch the water. Or if you do somehow jimmy a pan underneath, moving the appliance back off will just tilt the pan over. You will get flooding all over your floors - in my case, hardwood. A hundred times worse if you use the dehumidifier mode - you will flood your living space. I wish I had heeded all the warnings. I hate this thing with a passion. Honestly don't know what the hell to do with it. I hate it hate it hate it. ... show more

For me, the features & benefits: 1) fantastic, effective, quick cooling, 2) well built, sturdy, pleasing design, 3) easy set-up, cleaning of vents & draining (small amount) water accumulation, 4) no noticeable difference in most recent energy bill, FAR outweigh that it may NOT be the quietest portable a/c unit. I studied countless Reviews & determined a unit for more sq ft than my space yields the best results (750 sq ft to my 540). I'm so glad I made the investment and purchased this unit. I have been running this ac for 3 months and now it's time for my review let's start with pros the ac cools my garage nicely with my setup the door isn't insulated and faces east so the morning heat in Florida is a challenge for this unit but it holds up my garage is 21× 21 × 10 ft it takes this unit 1.5 hours to cool from 85 to 70 at medium fan speed my setup will not work on high speed but all and all I am happy with this unit and would buy this unit again I used this unit in my living space when we have party's to help keep everyone cool once again it holds its own very well now for the cons the water drains should have a cut off valve instead of a rubber stop it falls out very easily while moving the unit it doesn't show the current temperature just what you set it to the temperature only shows when the unit is off which is useless in my opinion the remote does not have a backlight for low light use so the remote is useless to me and doesn't show room temperature the wheels don't glide easily so moving it around is difficult but only on turns the noise level is a little loud then advertised my fans are quit comparing it to this unit the exhaust hose is another thing that is to be desired I mean who in their right mind would make the ends come off by turning them in the opposite direction so every time you lock one side the other side comes off with well this being said with all of the things I can find wrong performance is not one of those things but it does lower my star's if the manufacturer would make the changes even if they were to leave the fan noise and the exhaust alone I would give it 5 star's ... show more

    • Poor product,quality and worse customer support

We bought the unit 1 year and 4 months ago and was only actually ran for about 4 months total. One week after turning it on this summer it stopped working. I opened it up trying to figure out what happened to fix it. Once I got to the control board there was no question. One of the relays was completely toasted. I removed the relay from the board to try to find a replacement to solder in and couldn't find a single one online. Like it exists for only one company. I contacted Honeywell to try to purchase a new control board to fix it and they told me they don't sell those. I was told to try to contact a HVAC business to see if they could fix it. So I did. They tried to contact honeywell and were told the same thing. I'm not sure how they expect an HVAC to do it if they refuse to sell replacement parts. Now the unit sits there useless waiting for recycling. I will never buy honeywell again. A unit that costs this shouldn't only last a year and a company that won't help by selling parts to repair doesn't deserve anyone's business. ... show more

Unit is quiet by our standards; but we are in a construction site office. Office is 16x20 with 12' ceilings; windows up one wall No air in the building outside - easily 15 degree difference between in here and out there at the hottest times of the day. Meetings held in the room with it and it can be left on. Speaker phones dont like it. WE had to set a bucket behind it to catch the water - too humid in here to let it just vent - it would spit out the fan in the top. That bucket with a pump to a nearby sink works fine. If its in a house or place where aesthetics count, just get one of those little plug in the wall condensate tank/ pump combo and run a hose or tubing to a drain/ out the window/ a nearby sink and you are good. Dusty environment - we clean the filter every 2 days and the thing is still working great. We bought 3 more of the same units for other site offices and 1 site trailer where the central air failed and would be out for several weeks for parts. We did wrap insulation around the air outlet hose as it gets warm - not necessary but why have a warm exhaust hose in the space you are cooling? Dont by the amazon suggested hose kit. It comes with the hose so its a waste of money and your time when it will inevitably be sent back. ... show more
