  • Functional- Bees Love them!
Loved the first one so much we purchased a second one! Have ran into issues with swarms getting into our brick home the last several years and these have helped give the bees a more “constructive” place to invade. Instead of the bees getting into the brick and making a home there, they now inhabit these. We hang the swarm traps on trees on the property. They aren’t a terrible eye sore since they are grey, and if they keep the bees out of my house- that’s all I need! They were also easy to assemble and durable as this is our second season using them and there is little to no wear on the trap. I would recommend these to anyone who has continuous trouble with bees and swarms on their property! We call a local bee keeper who can easily remove the bees in the swarm trap because of the closing mechanism on the entrance hole. Then he returns the trap empty. He did share it was pleasant having that feature and being able to open the top to pull the frames out. ... show more

  • Customer for Life.
This will sound ridiculous, but if every consumer purchasing experience was similar to my experience with this product/owner, the world would be a happier place. First, I am new to beekeeping. I have worked hard to learn as much as possible this last year. I bought the Interceptor after searching for something online to attempt a wild swarm capture - as a novice. I read the reviews of the product on Amazon (having never previously seen it) and was mostly convinced to buy the trap because of the positive comments about the company staff/owner Mr. Frye. I figured so many positive reviews had to have merit. So when I got the product (faster than expected, by the way) I was excited to try it out. Having never had a trap, I didn't know what to expect as far as design but I could tell the product was well made, the instructions were clear, everything needed to hang/secure the trap was included, and like others have said, Mr. Frye included a personalized letter to me along with a pen and his "cell phone number" - which I thought was probably an office number... but turns out it really was his cell phone! Initially, when I hung the trap as a novice beekeeper trying to catch a wild swarm, I was overly anxious. I did everything I could to improve my odds (location, facing direction, etc). After 24 hours, there was bee activity. I was stoked. But sadly, after 2 days of "visiting" bees, things quieted down. So, I sent a message to the cell number asking if they would offer me advice. I was amazed that Mr. Frye immediately called me and we talked for nearly an hour. He is genuinely a very nice man with TONS of knowledge. I made some changes to my setup based on his recommendations and within a matter of days, I had a wild swarm (as you can see from my photo). The best part is, I have continued to communicate with Mr. Frye. Even during the swarm and following the relocation thereafter, he has remained a valuable resource for me. I certainly don't want to cause him to be flooded with "needy" customers like me because he will never get anything else done. But I can't tell you how refreshing it has been to have a high quality product that has been well worth the investment PLUS the creator/inventor/builder of the product be so graciously accessible to help. Like I said, if only all business owners were this good. I'm a customer for life. You will not regret making this purchase. PS - As you can see in the photo, I hung my trap with a ratchet strap. Like everyone else, my trap included a heavy duty nail and strong rubber strap... I just didn't use them because I was still learning where to place the trap and didn't know if I would need to move it. So the only thing that is "sloppy" about this photo/setup was my choice to use my own equipment. ... show more

  • Think like a bee and get the interceptor
The media could not be loaded. I bought the Interceptor Pro it came with everything as advertised. Its design and construction are top notch. I installed it with one long screw and hung it on my back porch. I put the vial of Swarm Commander and lemon grass oil and frames that it came with and one old frame I had from last year that had a little bit of pollen and capped honey. I don't think that frame was necessary, I think the Swarm Commander is really what attracted the scouts. I also think the design of the box mimics a tree cavity well and lastly it's so portable you can place anywhere. I got to see the swarm today because it's outside my office window! For reference I put it out the last week of March and caught this swarm today, April 24th. Inside the box Mr. Frye the owner and creator sent a little piece of paper with his name and cell phone number that urges you to call or text him with any questions. He's walking bee encyclopedia and it's obvious he loves what he does. The price alone is worth having his number, can't say enough good things about this product! ... show more

  • Thoughtful customer service!
I purchased this back in February and, even here in South Florida, it wasn’t warm yet. I just opened the box today and to my delight there were handwritten notes on the instruction sheets from Mr. Frye! He indicated in his notes that it’s OK to text or call him anytime! I purchased an already assembled box. It is sturdy, lightweight, and very well-made. The included instruction sheet gave tips where to hang, which I greatly appreciated. I am a new person to bee keeping. The smell is amazing and the inclusion of attractor lure is a plus. As I was attaching it to a 4 x 4 pole in my backyard there were three or four solitary bees flying around me and the box! I’m hoping they were Scout bees and they’ll let their hive know there’s a new place in town!! I’ll update the review after a bit to let you know how successful this is! ... show more

  • Best Swarm Trap!
This is the best swarm trap. I had a swarm in the air moving through my yard and had recently bought this trap but it was still in the box. I ran to my shop and put it together in minutes and brought it out, but unfortunately, they moved on by the time I came back. I went ahead and hung the trap on a tree since I had assembled it and to my amazement, there were bees in it the next day! This is can be re-used over and over as well making it a great tool to add to your toolbox. I want to have at least 3 of these rraps ready next Spring! ... show more
