I got this to be used with my DIY equipment I have at home like drills, saws and other machines. I was surprised at the great sturdyness of this extension cord. Very strongly made and the light at the end is a very pleasant to have. The length is just right for what I need so I am very pleased with it. First off, this thing does its job by getting 120 volt current from one place to another. It is well constructed and has a thick insulation that feels durable and waterproof. When it is carrying current the end receptacle glows with a low amber light telling you that the line is hot. This is s good thing unless you want to keep the connection out of sight like for Christmas lights. It’s a nice convenience in most other situations. I haven’t used it outdoors yet but the Amazon posting says the connection should not get wet. This and the glow might limit its use in a permanent outside application like landscape lights. This is a good quality, all-purpose extension cord. It's well constructed and weather resistant, so it could be a good option for outdoor use. It has a nice LED light so you know when you have power. I've slowly been upgrading all of my older, less well made extension cords to newer, better designed cords like this one. I've been using this extension cord for a few weeks now, and it's been great for all different kinds of things around the house and in the garage. Works as an extension cord. It's only 16ga but it's only 8 ft so I don't think there's any issue running high amp loads on it. Only complaint is that the LED to show it's on is not very bright and you can barely see it.
